Game 1 (WIN):The balanced build, to test the waters. I won the toss and got a two-Nova draw with a first turn Lycan, while he got a first-turn Immo Golem combo. I rewound it, and by the time he was able to play any other creatures I was pretty far ahead. He was able HL a Garg though.
Game 2 (LOSS):Without him playing any permanents, I removed the steals. I swapped them for another DL for CC and the fourth Garg for damage. Also, facing a creature-heavy deck, I swapped the Spirit out for the Flayer. This was essentially an anti-rush build.
However, I lost the toss and only had one nova. I was able to play a stiletto, but after a couple of turns he Deflagged it and I never had any real threat to catch up to him.
Games 3 and 4 (WINS):I exchanged the fourth Garg for the Nightmare, since he had emptied his hand a lot more in the second game than the first.
In the third game, I didn't get a creature in my first 10 cards and only had a Graboid for my first 15, but I rewound a blessed Shrieker, then topdecked a DL and killed it next turn. The game was pretty slow until he played a Photon and Blessed it twice, which emptied his hand and allowed me to Nightmare and get his damage low enough where my late creatures could kill him. I had less than 10 cards left in the end.
I stayed with the same mod for the final game and chipped away at his HP faster gthan he killed mine, and I topdecked a Garg on the last turn before I had calculated my total damage with DLs and unburrowing, so it basically saved me a couple seconds of counting :3
RNG had a little bit of factor, as I won the coin toss and had two Novas on turn 1 in all three of my wins, but it was definitely a fun match, and I expected nothing less for my first war match, considering it was almost two years late. Great match nelde, you were very fun to play with. Hope your luck is better next round (unless you play us again, of course
