There are 18 death cards there, 13 of which are quanta producers.
10 pendulums to fuel the life, 3 pillars to increase reliability for plagues and the dragons.
Also note that they need around the same amount of death quanta as life quanta if they wanted to play everything. (32

). Seeing dragons make up nearly a third of all of the deck's death quanta useage, I'd say the bone pillars are justfied.
With there only being 3 more life cards, I feel they did the best they could. Which isn't too different from the absolute best they could possibly do.
