Now that's a monkey off of death's back. The light/water stall deck that destroyed us last war we finally took down. Not without a little luck though. Did get a double EM though but that's mainly because with EQ's Fenix knew he would never get enough quanta to kill me.

Game 1 - Was low on quanta here at the beginning and that darned permafrost froze my creatures really badly.  I also played my quicksands poorly. Came down to my last turn killing him and he had 14 quanta the turn before with a miracle in hand. He also miracled three times. Pretty darn lucky if you ask me.

Game 2 - This game i had good quanta and early spiders. Was able to play 4 during the whole matchup BUT the critical card for Fenix was the permafrost. He never drew it. I on the other hand only drew 1 quicksand the whole matchup but fortunately they really weren't needed. He miracled twice i think but without the perma he couldn't stop the damage.

GG Fenix.

Credit Malduk and Shantu i believe for this deck. I actually modded it a little and made it worse.

First Game:
Really close, got 3 miracles off throughout the match but as MrBlonde said it came down to his final card where I ended up one :light short for the last miracle (had it in hand). A painful loss for me, but he played a great game..

Second Game:
A not so lucky first hand followed by no shields made this game pretty tough. Really early Flesh Recluses were a pain, but managed to get the first miracle off okay. At the end I had more than enough :light quanta, but didn't draw any miracles or shields and the damage was just too much.

Good game MrBlonde, good luck for the rest of the war (expect for your games versus light of course  :P)

Heh, I'm sure this was the scouting round for :light ... Lets throw them the deck that beat them in the first war and see if they came up with a counter. :)
Good job MrBlonde!  ;)

Congratz MrBlonde.  I was wondering if Light would use this deck against you.  Looks like you guys found a pretty good counter to it though.

I read "Permafrost" and went "whaaa?". Nice choices for ups, though. That's a decent amount of fast damage to try to handle.

Surprised to see no holy lights here seems like they could've helped.

Actually if he packed 3-4 holy lights they probably win.

I think he was more concerned about poison, hence the Purifies. You know the nice thing? They can ditch all 3 of those and then 3 Pillars/Pends, and then still have this deck perfectly fine for next round :P
I ask nothing of humanity but fairness in all things, but I do not expect even that.

Yeah this first round is more of, "i need make vault bigger, must win", rather then "oh noes i lose, my vault ish destroyed".
