0 A.t.A. (After the Apocalypse): The survivors of humanity struggle to stay alive.
47 A.t.A.: The first of the Apocalypse Nations begin to form.
127 A.t.A.: The countries within the spoilers are formed, but you can just read the bottom set of spoilers and skip this one to find out the contingent countriesThe North American Alliance (member countries: Midwestern Federation, Upper California, The Yellowstone Republic , East Coast Alliance, The Hawaiian Commonwealth, The Separatist Republic of Quebec, The Canadian Alliance, Alaska, the Republic of Greenland) the Mexan Empire is formed (All of Mexico, the Southern United States (all the area below the top of New Mexico, Except for any land in Missouri, which is part of the Midwestern Federation) all Central American Nations except the Tri-Alliance (member countries: The Panaman Trade States (Panama, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua) The Kingdom of Cuba and The Dominican Republic)) The S.A. 131 A.t.A.: Tensions rise. Consolidated alliances ally with other Alliances with similar views to help protect themselves.
133 A.t.A. (Now): Tensions reach a breaking point. The two main factions, the Industrial Powers, countries that had been poor before the apocalypse that had emulated the original “first world countries” by building large fleets of machines, and the Genetic Alliance, “first world” countries that had experienced first-hand the failure of their beloved technology, and had decided that they could only rely on their own abilities, declare war on each other.

A little disclaimer:
I am fully aware that some of the countries in the Industrial Powers where not "Poor" before the Apocalypse, but to resolve balancing issues, I just lumped them in there.
Industrial Powers countries have a steampunk feel, while countries in the Genetic Alliance have more of an "alien planet" feel (ever seen Avatar?) but they also have some steampunk inventions (see Nausicaa of the valley of wind)

If you want to sign up then:
Post with your
Name:
Age:
Appearance: (do they have mechanical arts? do they have animal appendeges?)
Alignment: (Industrial Powers or Genetic Alliance)
Backstory:
Equipment: (basic machines and clothes for Genetic Alliance, and Steampunk stuff for Industrial Powers)
Powers: (If you're in the Genetic Alliance, your genes have probably been screwed with, so you might be able to breath fire of something, and if you're in the Industrial Powers then you might be a cyborg with corresponding powers.)
please don't make your characters OP, or I will be forced to balance them.

Just so you know, neither big alliance is evil, just different.

There is a chance I might compile the responses and post them on fictionpress.net/ so use correct grammar if possible. I will credit anyone who posts, as long as they actually contribute.

Types of people:
Human (version two): this accounts for the majority of humans that survived the plague. While they appear human, they are usually stronger and more intelligent than ordinary humans were. (29/40 people)
Human (resistant version):This was the only other kind of "pure human" that survived the plague. They often aren't as intelligent of strong as the other races, but they have a ridiculous resistance to disease and poison. (2/40 people)
Furries: A variety of Human (version two) that also have some animal features. Not uncommon, but not easily findable either. (3/40 people)
Shifters: A variety of Human (version two) that can shift all of part of their body into different forms. A Shifter may have a Furry base form, and have a more apparent change after they shift. Quite rare.(1/40 people)
Mentals: A variety of human (version one or version resistant) that can control foreign substances with the power of their minds. Mentals cannot be Furries or Shifters. Quite rare in most locations, except for the Midwest. Nearly non-existent in the Industrial Powers. (1/40)
Cyborgs/Machinists: Humans (version two) who have machine parts, either because of choice or due to an accident. Cyborgs can only have machine appendages and organs, but Machinists are cyborgs with partly mechanical brains.Really rare in the Genetic Alliance, as they can simply regrow limbs, but not uncommon in the Industrial Powers. (4/40)
