"Who are you?"

Kairos stormed up to the door again, finding the hooded figure once again burrowing throw some stuff in the corner.  But the trespasser did look up as he walked up to crouched figure.

"Ah, you're back.  I thought you'd have been sent back a but further.  Guess this just proves some stuff..."

This was just getting roundabout and confusing.  "What?"

The short being merely chuckled under its breath.  "Do you really not know?  Do you really not remember?"

He slowly turned to face Kairos, his face still masked in the shadows of his cloak, which, under closer inspection, was trimmed with gold.  As the edges glimmered, Kairos thought that, just for a second, he saw his face.

Rewind

Then there was a flash of gold and all went black.

"No, you wake him up."

"What?  No, I'm not going anywhere near him.  What if-"

They fall silent as Kairos grunts as he bats his eyes open, rubbing away the sands that have found their way into the nooks of his eyes.  Sleepily, he looks up to see the shelter full of people, not void except for that mysterious figure.

He continued to look around dazed until someone elbows his way past some of the loitering elementals and the occasional Deja Vu and kicked his leg.  Despite his face masked by bandages worn down by the sand, his voice came through quite powerfully and commanding.

"Oi, princess.  Get up.  The boss wants to see you."

"Okay..."

Stifling a yawn, Kairos gets up and makes his way to a flight of stairs leading further into the base.

Seems it had all been a dream...

[I told you I'd edit this.  So was it a dream, his subconscious reminding him that he is greater than he thinks, or did he just get sent back into the past by an unknown assailant?

Okay, the plan is to send Kairos out into the world.  Any takers?]

Aquarius woke up that day to find 3 dead nymphs floating above his house in Atlantis. All signs pointed to them dying of drowning, but they had been quinted specifically so they could survive. After seeing this, Aquarius decided to check other places where he knew nymphs lived. At the last place he checked lived one of his nymphs. She noticed that he was very tired.
"What's the rush?" she asked.
"Something completely crazy happened to remove immortality from my nymphs! I-"
"You aren't going to bash aether elementals, are you?"
"No! How else could immortality be removed?!"
She released her breath, relieved that she wouldn't have to try to convince him that it wasn't some elemental or group of elementals. She waited a moment for Aquarius to calm down before Aquarius suddenly grabbed her hand and said,
"Let's see what caused this. Then we can go to remove it."
And then Aquarius quickly swam off, followed by the nymph, who commented,
"Or make use of it."

Velethan turned away from Ren. "I don't know if we can trust him. He seems too eager to join up with us."

Galnath shrugged. "Well, I'm fine with it. I think he can come in handy."

Cameron nodded in approval. "I mean, he's here already, so why not?" Velethan sighed. "Alright. Fine."

He turned back around to face his new companion. "You can come. However, we're about to be catapulted into Etheria, where few have ventured before. No guarantees you'll survive."

"Etheria? Why are you going to Etheria? I don't mind joining up with you guys, but do you mind telling me why you're so eager to go there? You've even packed along that catapult. What's so interesting about Etheria?" Ren was puzzled. He had thought that the first elementals he would meet were more....normal? It wasn't every day you saw an air, gravity, and fire elemental trying to catapult themselves into the land of aether.

"We were commissioned to investigate the strange energy disturbance, and Etheria may contain clues or even the source of it. Either way it's one of our last hopes because the other eleven nations have no information whatsoever."

"Uh, guys." Cameron interrupted. "The catapult is ready. I am 99% sure we will make it from this distance."

Galnath looked skeptical. "What if we hit that barrier around Etheria and rebound?" Cameron looked at Akebono. "I guess we can have Akebono float below us so if, which we won't, fail, he can catch us."

"I'm ready." Velethan said. "You coming, Ren?"

"Very well" Renato agreed. "I am also investigating the strange energy. It might even have some correlation with the null creatures I encountered earlier. Either way, I feel that my experience with the null creatures might come in handy if we were to meet some, and I am eager to see if Etheria has some answers as well." Ren shook Velethan's offered hand, and both of them prepared for the catapult.

Aquarius first stopped at the temples of Jezebel and Neptune, seeing what he could do to get their favors for this journey.

Aquarius's second destination was the Frozen North. After reaching the frozen shore, he wrung out his cloak. Followed by the nymph, he quickly checked that he had what he had packed before going off, slowly walking across the frozen landscape.

"If this doesn't work, I will strangle you for all the trouble you got us in to." Galnath remarked sarcastically.

Cameron smiled. "Feel free to. Now let's go!"

Velethan directed his Wyrm to fly back to the Air palace, they had no need for his trusty steed now. The four Elementals and an excited Saph entered the catapult. Surprisingly, they all fit inside. Akebono prepared to launch them.

"Alright, launch in three...two...o-" Cameron was cut off by an abrupt snap. They were airborne.

The velocity was incredible. The adrenaline rush from accelerating through the air at incredible speeds, sailing miles over the endless ocean...incomparable. Velethan spread his wings and pretended to fly. The Air Elementals enjoyed the adrenaline rush, yet the others were experiencing the opposite. Galnath had shut his eyes and closed himself off to the world, while Cameron was screaming loudly. Saph let out a shrill of fear.

Velethan glanced at their destination - approaching fast. The barrier must be close. He looked down and noticed Akebono trailing them, alert. He waved and mouthed a "thank you", then turned to face Etheria once again.

All of a sudden he heard a low growl: Akebono stopped. He had hit the Dimensional Shield. That meant...they were through! "We did it!" Velethan exclaimed.

As they entered the realm of the Aether Elementals, the outside world slowly faded from view. It was like they entered an entirely new dimension. The strangely colored blob that he saw from the outside was gone. Instead they were in a pure white tunnel, void of any objects. The absence of, well, everything felt strange.

Then Velethan realized they needed a way to slow down, otherwise they would collide with the ground at terminal velocity and most likely die from the impact. "Guys, how are we going to slow down?" he asked.

As if experiencing a miracle, the group began to decelerate. In a matter of seconds, they came safely to a halt and landed on the floor of the tunnel. "Whew..." Galnath was relieved.

"YEAH! THAT WAS AMAZING! WHOOO!" Cameron began to celebrate by jumping around and fisting the air. Suddenly, four beings appeared, two on either side of them in the narrow tunnel. They were completely sealed in obscure black armor, long purple capes flowing from their shoulders.

The four Elementals and the Charger were silent as the strange beings closed in.

"What is the meaning of your presence here?" one asked.

"Uh...we...err..." Cameron stammered.

"We are investigating the recent energy surge that threatens the peace of our nations. We came here to ask if you had any information regarding the matter." Galnath said confidently.

One of the beings nodded. "He's telling the truth. We will bring them to Lord Isharugi." He turned to the visitors, face obscured by his strange helmet. "Come with us."

Without saying a word, the group followed the Aether Elementals down the blank tunnel of nothingness.

[Okay, the plan is to send Kairos out into the world.  Any takers?]

[I'll take you up on your offer.]
Exhausted and confused, Ferocio fell asleep on one of the logs he had brought to the ground with his Pulverizer. He slept until King Helios had brought the Sun to the top of its arc, and woke up with a start. "I need to go somewhere. NOW. This clearing is getting SOO boring."
Ferocio decided that the Desert of Time would be an excellent place to explore, since almost no one except the clever Time elementals had ever found something interesting in it.

ADRENALINE

And Ferocio took off into the desert. Before long, the Sun started beating down on him, drenching him in sweat. Under his Adrenaline rush, Ferocio had no regard for physical limitations, and continued to barrel through the flat, sandy land at top speed. On and on he went, scaring away Dune Scorpions and Devonian Dragons alike with his speed and the green glow in his eyes. And then, he tripped.
"Hey, what was that?" Ferocio turned to the small object he had just stumbled on. He tried to pick it up, but realized that it must be part of a large rock.
Or maybe, a building...
Still under the force of Adrenaline, Ferocio began to dig like a Graboid, quickly clearing the sand away to reveal the top two layers of sandstone of a... pyramid? Intrigued, Ferocio dug downwards on a side that he perceived to be the entrance, until he found a large, majestic door encrusted with the Time insignia at the top. Using his Pulverizer, he smashed the door down and entered the house. In order to try and be stealthy in his exploration of this unknown building, Ferocio undid his Adrenaline rush and tiptoed forward. Suddenly, he heard footsteps coming up a staircase to the right. Instead of attempting to hide himself, he walked over to the stairs.
Up came a thin man, hardly twenty years old, with tanned skin and dark brown hair. He wore a simple, torn linen piece of clothing, but carried an air of pride that seemed to come from the family crest on his pendant. "Who are you?" he said.
"Ferocio Vivis. I'm not trying to intrude, I just found this pyramid after stumbling on it while running through the desert."
"Sure you were. Anyway, I'm not a tattletale, I'll keep your secret. I'm Kairos, by the way. Kairos Tempus."
"Well, Kairos, would you like to go somewhere with me? The Earthen Mountains are a little ways to the west of here. We can make our way into the Gravity Basin and see what's going on there if you want."
"We can go to the Mountains, but I'm not sure if I want to go to Gravity. You see, I was just part of a raid that went on there."
"Oh, so it was YOU who stole that Catapult from Gravity? Rumor has it they have many others, though. It should be fine. Let's go!" The adventurers quietly slipped out of the pyramid, and rose to the surface. Immediately, both could see the Mountains to their west, the cloaked Kingdom of Darkness to the south, and the Dead Marshes, issuing a strong stench of decay from the east. The two made their way to the west. After a few minutes of slow travel, Ferocio became frustrated. "Man, this sand is so hard to walk in. Would you like to get on my back so I can Adrenaline and get through this desert faster?"
"Sure, though it's not hard for me to walk in this, I've been doing it my whole life." Kairos climbed on Ferocio's back.

ADRENALINE

And Ferocio once again thundered across the desert, approaching the mountains at inhuman speed. Finally, the two reached the base and prepared for a climb.
"Don't worry, Ferocio, we have as much time as you want to climb this thing, I have my Eternity with me."
"Awesome! I'm getting tired of this Adrenaline thing anyway." Slowly, the powerful green glow in Ferocio's eyes slimmed down to about half its size.
[Drake_XIV, I hope you're okay that I kinda took control of your character for a little. Feel free to control the two characters for some time as well.]

"Well, they sure ran off pretty quickly." Lyra noted as she saw the elemental take off an a blur of Adrenaline like a certain blue hedgehog. From the sparks leaping around, it was also pretty clear that an Aether elemental had also been here, but he was nowhere to be seen.

"Curses." Kuraz muttered. "Jenkins has completely ran off and any witnesses of the battle have already left the scene. All we know is that a and elemental have been fighting here."

"No, there's something else."

"And exactly what would that be, Shaden?"

"Give me one second and I'll show you what I mean."
Possess King [Spade]
Her hair once again tainted with streaks of black, Lyra's body shuddered as Shaden took control.

"Alright. I know it's not directly in our vicinity, but I can... 'sense' it, somehow. It's around here, didn't get too far. We should try prodding the bus-"

He was interrupted by a screech as a Scorpion fell out in front of him, a small clear/blackish liquid on its foot. It struggled to get the thing off of it, but nothing could be done as the creature was consumed and the blob grew slightly in size. 6 crystal-like spikes appeared to protrude out of the new blob, as if it had once taken a distinct shape.

Kuraz prepared to blast it, but Shaden held him back.

"Wait. I want to try something." He started walking closer to it.

"Wait, why are you walking CLOSER to that thing?!" Lyra almost yelled, had she not been a displaced spirit. "I don't want to end up like that Scorpion!"

"No.... I don't think this one will resist too much. Considering how small it was, it was probably a fragment - a chip off a summoning that fell off unnoticed. It just got lucky and found some food before it completely lost the will to exist."

"That doesn't mean you should try to touch it, Shaden!" Kuraz started to get closer as well, but Shaden pushed him away.

"Don't disrupt me! I don't care if we get killed, because I bet we're not going to get killed."

"You bet? This isn't poker!"

"Look, man. You can go on and rant about how dangerous it is for me, but unless we want to take some evidence back, I need to touch the thing. Okay?"

"Fine. It's a wonder you still hold loyalty to ."

"Well, I'm a mysterious person." Crouching down, Shaden moved his hand towards the seemingly docile blob, only for the blob to latch onto his hand.

The pain was indescribable. Shaden felt as if his hand was being ripped apart from trying to integrate the blob's energy with his own - indeed, he had touched Void before to try to craft a Pillar in its namesake, but he had touched Void that was under his Control.

"..... I can feel it, Shaden. We're unlocking a card in the Deck of Fools."

"And? I-i-i'm kin-d of iN PaIN HERe!"

"I don't know, okay? I think somehow, that.... thing is reacting with the deck's energy signature!"
Absorb Queen [Heart]
The pain suddenly disappeared for the Shaden as the blob violently ricocheted at him, then sunk into his body. He collapsed.

"Thank goodness, you're okay. I'd hate to explain to Academy that Lyra was killed even before Jenkins was." Kuraz sighed, taking out a small bottle of water from his pack. "Drink?"

"Yeah, thanks." Downing the whole drink in one gulp, Shaden stood up and let Lyra take control once more.
Possess Queen [Spade]
"Alright, so what exactly happened to that blob? If it's inside me, I will slap you."

"No, it's not inside you."

"So where is it then?"

"'Inside' me, if you want to put it that way. I converted the thing to elemen- excuse me, Void energy and integrated it with my spirit. Your new card-tarot thing helped."

"The Deck of Fools is not just a bunch of cards or tarots, they're magic spells! Anyway, I guess I have to say thanks, too, though, since this is the first card we've gotten of a different suit than Spade. So now, can you summon any of that Void stuff, like a pillar now that you have elemental energy of it?"

"It's not really elemental energy, and it's way too little for me to even summon a Blob. All I can say is what this... thing was supposed to be - in our language, it's apparently called a 'Voidstalker'."

"I guess we can't do much more then. Kuraz, do you think we should try to find Jenkins or follow the elemental?"

"Knowing Jenkins, he'll turn up at Sanctum Solaris in a week beaten up and in the arms of some other Elemental." Kuraz said, as he finished scribbling down the day's events in his journal. "I suggest we follow the elemental's path. Based on the direction he left in, he'll be skirting the Time Border and going into the Gravity Basin." He cut off as he stooped down to see a pendant, a piece of jade stringed on a loop of what appeared to be tough vine. "Could this be...."

"Soooo... Time or Gravity?" Lyra broke into Kuraz's thoughts.

"Gravity, of course. We need an eyewitness account, don't we?"

"I suppose we do. Let's go."
[Going to try to meet up with one of the other PC's. The more the merrier, after all.]

The Amargio soon proved itself to be something of a taskmaster, often stomping the ground to remind the other two elementals to get moving, or directly pulling them along via it's innate Gravity Pull. Jenkins was willing enough to keep going 'in search of adventure!' but Iredia kept wanting to stop and examine this new thing and that. It quickly got to the point of rediculousness when she almost got left behind because she stopped to stare at a common flower a bit too long.
Jenkins: Are ya sure yer a gravity? Yer more distractable then entropy elementals.
Iredia: but I'm sure that flower was changing colors!
Jenkins: Nope, I've seens prismaflowers before, and that wasn't it. It was a tri-decadion flower, those take ten years to grow, spend ten years in bloom-! IREDIA!
Iredia had wandered off again, and was kissing the ground. When she looked up, she looked addled, almost as if an entropy elemental wailed on her with a discord.
Iredia: What? I was taking a drink?
The Amargio looked at her in alarm, and this time, walked over, and gently picked her up and began to carry her.
Iredia: Hunh? What's up?
Jenkins: Yer wounded! It musta been that weird abomination that you killstole from me.
Iredia: Uhhhh....Right, right, I remember that thing, two arms, a leg with a hand, and that weird squirting eye-stalk....YOU! SUCK! And those two! They suck too!
Jenkins:Uh-oh, whatever you've got, it's getting wors-HEY! GUYS!
Jenkins ran over to a duo of light elementals that was a good distance away.
Iredia:Hunh? What'sss they, hisisisis wivevies?
