[I get to mess with Kairos' disposition!  Just for future reference, make sure you ask and wait for approval before using Kairos Tempus.

Also, I'm going on a retreat, so I will have minimal activity over the next few days.]

I'm sorry but we can no longer accommodate you Tempus.

Kairos spat to the side as he followed Fero.  He wasn't an idiot.  The shelter had enough provisions to last a cycle, and there was more than enough room.  He was being banned from the incident.

Apoarently, the elemental who had disappeared when attacking him was the boss' son.  And found dead during the last raid.

Of course, Kairos was to blame.  Even though no one could prove it.

Now that he was out in the world, he wasn't hopelessly sheltered.  His many trips to the city have yielded all kinds of ... information.

Especially on a catapult thief.

Kairos stabbed at striking up conversation.  He wasn't the most socially active guy, but in this eternal desert, it wouldn't hurt.

"So why are you here?"  He let his gaze drift to the endless sand.  "You're not here for the views, that's for sure...."

Location: Windswept Shores
Penn caught his breath. He still had a while to go before delivering the news back to Mya, but he was already tired. Nearly an entire two days without any rest. He thought back to the creatures he had met earlier. What were these null creatures? And why were they so powerful? Penn sat down to think. What was going on? It was a while before Penn noticed that he was cold, but not in the temperature sense. Cold, as in lifeless, as if his very energy was being drained away. He was all too aware of the silence. "Who's there?" Penn notched an arrow into his Owl Eye and turned around, but he could only open his mouth and try to scream. There was silence.


Location: Etheria
Ren shuddered. He didn't know exactly why, but something just didn't feel right. He wondered if Penn had delivered his message yet. If not...he didn't want to think what those null creatures would do to the land of air. The group walked down a tunnel that flickered as if it were made of some kind of fluid, but retaining solid capabilities as well. Ren tried to make some small talk. "Er," Ren asked one of the immortals guiding them, "What is with all this security? Did something happen?"

The immortal turned to Ren, and without slowing down his pace quickly replied "It's classified. Lord Isharugi will tell you all about it, but for now, I can tell you that a class 4 criminal had escaped. We are nearly in a state of emergency trying to find him and recapture him."

Another immortal broke in "We also believe that he may be somewhat related to what you elementals are looking for, but I will let lord Isharugi brief you in about that"

"Wow. Class 4? I heard there were only a few of those notorious criminals around. Can you imagine if we were somehow able to catch him?" Ren nudged Velethan.

"Don't be silly" Velethan brusquely replied, "As it is, I doubt that even myself, an elite warrior from air can stand toe to toe with someone like that"

"Indeed", agreed Galnath, "We are most likely out of his league. If we were to meet him, all we should do is to escape"

Ren didn't say anything, but anyone who looked deep into his eyes already saw that his mind was thinking up of ideas.

"And we are here," said an immortal, escorting the elementals into a room that was so white the intensity hurt the eyes.

Dimentio stared dumbfounded at the colorless creature in front of him. The last time he had seen one of those, it had attacked a pesky life elemental, but this one was bigger. No, bigger was an understatement. It was at least twice as large, it's colorless eyes, rolling around lifelessly, turning towards him. He had seen smaller versions of these a while ago, and indeed, had quite fun using his Twin Universe skill on them, but they were unable to be fractaled, and they usually didn't pose much threat to him, usually bypassing him due to his special spatial abilities and phasing skills, but this one was different. Even if it displayed no open hostility, it blocked his path, and Dimentio was upset. "Okay, stupid thing, get out of my way" Dimentio swung the sword that he had stolen from a weapons store somewhere, and neatly cut right through the creature's legs and midbody in one slash. The creature slumped, as if about to fall apart, but merely shimmered a bit, and within a moment, the cut disappeared. "The Zanzarino?" Dimentio plunged his sword straight into the creature, all the way up to the hilt, but the creature didn't even seem phased. It merely lifted a leg and made to bat him away. Dimentio quickly pulled the sword out and avoided the attack. "Alright, now you're seriously pissing me off. I'll show you the powers of a true aether elemental..." Dimentio clenched his hand and suddenly yelled out, "THUNDERBOLT!" A bright bolt of lightning shot out, and enveloped the creature completely. When the lightning cleared, there was no trace, except for some sand on the ground that had fused into glass. "The Zanzarino are these things?" Dimentio wondered, "But more importantly, it seems my time being locked up has weakened me. I remember when my thunderbolt would be able to pierce the sky, and rule the land. Every enemy feared Dimentio's thunderbolt" Dimentio smiled as he remembered his memories of being a proud and praised warrior. But those days were past. He had to focus on the task at hand. How to escape and hide from Etheria.

"Meh, I got bored," returned Ferocio. "I was over at the clearing where our lands meet, following Dimentio Revane's voice."
"Revane, huh? Well, now at least we have some purpose. No one's ever going to catch him anytime soon."
"There's nothing my good ol' Pulvy can't break with enough force."
"You realize he can just disappear and reappear where he wants to, right? You might be the only one in the kingdom strong enough to smash the magic out of him, but we still need someone to take away his power. In short, we need another Aether elemental."
The two continued to bicker on the way up the mountain, Ferocio with his violent yells and Kairos with his reasoned, even-tempered words. As if in no time at all (and in fact, it WAS in no time at all, thanks to Kairos), they reached the peak of the Mountain and began to descend downwards to the Gravity Basin. It was as if some force was drawing them there...
As Cameron and the others entered Lord Isharugi's throne room, they expected to see some sort of phased being, something that displayed immortality and the power to control the dimensions, something GRAND, something POWERFUL...
Instead, they saw nothing.
"We're sorry, but Lord Isharugi has just taken leave for a moment. He seems to have found the criminal we have been after for what seems like - and could actually be, given what those time elementals can do - eons," said one of the Elite Immortal guards.
"Revane?" said Cameron. It wasn't every day that you get to witness the apprehension of history's most notorious criminal. "I thought he was roaming?"
"He is. However, Isharugi, using his Mindgate ability, was able to see through Revane's eyes to where he is. He said that he is making his way to the Gravity Basin, likely in order to steal some sort of shield for himself."
"I see. Well, I guess there's nothing left to do but wait for him."
They had found him. He didn't know how, or why, but they had found him. He had thought that going to the Gravity Basin from the northern Light Kingdom would have made him hard to find, but apparently not. "Isharugi's always been too nosy for his own good..." Dimentio was headed for the very center of the Gravity Basin. If a force was strong enough to be able to pull things to its center, then that center must be extremely powerful, and Dimentio wanted that power. Before he could transport himself through the dimensions to his destination, another being drifted into actuality.
"Dimentio Revane! You're coming with me!"
"Not if I can help it!" And the standoff was over just as quickly as it had started. Dimentio was gone, and no one but he knew where he was going.
Isharugi was enraged. "DIMENTIO! Don't you know that someday, you WILL be caught? You're lucky that I can only use my power at large intervals!"
[I hope you guys enjoyed that. It seems that everyone is gravitating to the Gravity basin (pun intended ), except for those Catapult people.]

"Huh, Gravity.  Are you sure it's safe to be here?"

Kairos toes the ledge, check if the ground is steady enough to proceed.

"I'd guess they were more military oriented, so I don't know about any border guards..."

"Thank god that we sent Jenkins to 'investigate' the strange happenings in the Life Realm." Lyra sighed.

"Yeah." Kuraz shook his head. "I'm just surprised that he has the mental capacity to remember to actually write down what actually happened, and not distort it."

"Well.... if he got involved a fight..."

"Yeah, but knowing his battle history his so-called 'fights' are just him getting into trouble at the bar. It's a good thing he wants to be a warrior, not a politician."

"You know, that Gravity Elemental - I heard the Armagio escorting her mumbling about 'strange Holy Light' or something. You don't really regret not investigating?"

"And go on a tangent and loose our only potential source of information? No thanks."

As the pegasi approached the Gravity realm, they saw two figures crouched on a cliff. One was a ragged man whose ragged garb was 'decorated' with what appeared to be Time-like embroidery, while the other emitted a lively aura famillar to Life elementals.

"Going on a hunch." Kuraz leaped off his Pegasus, taking out the jade pendant he had found earlier.

"Hey." The Life Elemental and the Time Elemental turned towards Kuraz, at first wary, but at soon as the Life Elemental saw the pendant, he took a much more aggressive stance. On the other hand, the Time Elemental began to back away slowly.

"Why do you have that?!" He roared leaping at the Light Elemental.

"Wait, Ferocio, maybe we should ta-"

"MY EYES!" Ferocio screamed, holding his eyes in pain as he staggered back from Kuraz's close-range burst.

"Sir, I just want to talk, like the Time one sa-"

[I'd like to explain Absorb Queen further at this part - without expendable elemental energy to cast something in the first place, you probably wouldn't be able to cast most spells (think of it as Absorb Queen trying to drain 2 when Kairos only has 2 ). Stronger elementals are less likely to be affected by weaker castings of Absorb Queen (E.g. Mobius would probably have a power level of 50 quanta, so draining 2 doesn't deny him an Ice Bolt.)]
"Woah woah, hold on! Both of you, striking before he could even say a sentence?! That's pretty damn rude!"

"Lyra, watch your language. I don't think the Time one meant it on purpose."

"So what?! We're here to investigate, not be Jenkins and go all out fighting!"

"Excuse me..." The Time Elemental said as he stepped up to them. "But if you two come in peace, what business do you have with us?"

"I believe that this Life Elemental dropped a pendant in battle. May I ask if it is his?"

"Alright. But traveling this far for a pendant seems overly generous, stranger."

"Indeed. To spare the upcoming question, we're here to investigate a strange happening that we witnessed recently. Have you witnessed any strange or unnatural things happening to you lately?"

"Erm..." the Time Elemental shifted a bit, as if he had become uncomfortable with talking.

"Hey, Kuraz, you're supposed to ask them their name first! And if you pardon my companion's slightly overbearing attitude, could I have your names?"

"...Kairos."
"Ferocio"

"So, ah, back to question. ^^; " Lyra sighed as she realized she was going to have to do a little digging, just like that famous lawyer who shouted really loud or something like that.

"Have you seen anything odd, like weird energy surges, random powers emerging, or strange elemental entities?"
[I'll leave Drake and thispersonisagenius to answer the question for their respective characters.]

Jenkins: So she'll be ok?
Life elemental(random NPC, will be gone after this scene): She'll be fine. Classic quanta overload. Probably looked worse than it actually was because it was entropy quanta disrupting her senses.
Jenkins:And how long will it take her to recover?
Iredia: ?_?Oooooh...Hey, how much fire did I eat?
Life elemental: Feeling better?
Iredia: I feel like someone pumped me full of purify and neroutoxin at the same time...But...I suppose I'll be ok. Eventually.
Amargio:Good. We go home now.
Iredia:Wait, what about the whole 'what's goign on with Iredia thing?'
Amargio: Quanta overload, you got lucky and shot spells instead of exploding. We go home now, back to basic training for you.
Iredia: >:(SERIOUSLY!?!
The Amargio simply pulled Iredia back onto his back wings (I'm not sure, but I think those things are wings or something?) and started walking home.
Jenkins: Well, I guess yer're need the great JENKINS to keep you safe eh?
Iredia: Uuuugh...Still feel like crap. Going back to basic training isn't gonna make things better...

[Alright, so there is some major plot information in this post, all players should read this!

Two more things: One, remember that one of the rules of this game is "NO CONTROLLING OTHER PLAYERS' CHARACTERS." Of course if you have permission from the character's creator, this rule is, (ahem) null.

Also, at this point we have two distinct groups of players. I will ask that you only narrate events and control NPCs in the vicinity of the group that YOUR character is in. So if you're traveling with the group in the Gravity Basin, DO NOT write anything related to the group currently in Etheria. Thank you for your cooperation.]

The group idled around the blank room, waiting for their host to return. The four Aether Elementals were silent, unmoving, one in each corner of the room.

Suddenly, a dark portal precipitated in the center of the ceiling, and a similarly dressed Immortal descended into the room. However, this one was without a helmet and was, without a doubt, female. She was stunningly beautiful with flawless, flowing purple hair.

"Hello visitors. I am Lady Isharugi." she pronounced.

The four Aether Elementals immediatly bowed and saluted her presence. "Welcome back, Lady." they recited in unison.

Galnath observed the ceremony and stepped down to one knee, bowing his head. "We are honored to be in your presence, Lady Isharugi."

Velethan reluctnatly did the same, as showing respect in this way might be beneficial to their mission.

"What brings you here, Elementals?" the Lady asked.

"We are currently investigating the power surge that erupted within the continent and we seek knowledge from the realm of Aether." Velethan replied.

The Lady smiled slightly. "You came to the right place. I am curious though, how did a group like you, comprised of various different Elementals with relatively little magical ability, enter this realm? The few visitors we get are all powerful spellcasters traveling alone."

Cameron burst into explanation. "Well you see, m'lady, us Gravity Elementals developed a catapult which could launch things through ANY barrier, and we used it to bypass the Dimensional Shield."

"Interesting. Congratulations." The Aether Elemental said. Cameron blushed.


"Well." she continuted. "I shall explain the source of this energy."

She opened her hand, and a small, perfectly round sphere floated into the air above it. With her other hand, she inserted a needle into the sphere, puncturing it through both sides of the sphere.

"This sphere represents every dimension currently known to us Aether Elementals. On half of the sphere, there exists 'stable' realms, and on the opposite half, 'unstable realms'. This point of the needle" - she pointed to the spot where it had punctured the sphere - "Is the dimesion you live in. It is on the stable plane of existence, which allows you to live and develop nations. There are thousands of other dimensions, similar to yours, on this half of the plane as well."

"The other side of the needle is on the unstable plane. This means there is relatively little order, which is a prerequisite for disaster. These unstable dimensions are dangerous even for us Aether Elementals who are born into a stable realm."

"Now, I didn't insert this needle for no reason. Remember that you are on one side and an unstable realm is on the other. Imagine the center of the sphere as a mirror. The opposing point of the needle is a world similar to yours - except everything is opposite. The term "opposite" is not black and white here, it simply means the presence of certain forces is reversed. For example, there is an absence of Gravity in your mirrored, unstable realm. However there is a large amount of null energy, which there is none of in your world. This null energy is created by the absence of a stable form of energy, and its properties mutate and develop over time. Think of it as an unpredictable singularity which can take on any form. It in incapable of thought on its own, it just exists and naturally changes."

"The final stage of this demonstration explains the energy surge that occurred in this realm."

Lady Isharugi pushed each side of the needle towards the center of the sphere. "This is what happened. The two opposite realms converge. You begin to experience some of this null energy, which is leaking into your realm as we speak. The two realms will eventually become one, perfect opposites cancel each other out, and everything in both realms will cease to exist."

The group of Elementals gasped in horror. "WHAT? Are you saying we are all doomed?" Galnath yelled.

"I'm afraid so. This is inevitable and occurres naturally in the dimensional world. These fluctuations only affect two realms at a time, one on either plane, and because there are thousands of other realms on the stable plane, as Aether Elementals we simply migrate to another realm."

"This is inconceivable! We can't allow this happen! You Aether Elementals simply move between worlds but the rest of us...we all just disappear like we never existed, along with everything we created throughout the eons!" Velethan screamed in anger.

"This is true. However you can rest assured that there are many other realms with similar societies to yours, nations of Elementals, united and prosperous. Some even more advanced than yours." the Lady said.

"There must be some way to reverse this!" Cameron was almost pleading. "Please, tell us how we can save this realm and everything the exists on it!"

Lady Isharugi sighed sadly. "I'm sorry, there is no way. This realm is doomed. I have explained to this many other Elementals in different realms as well. They all believe their realm is the most important because they have not experienced dimensional travel like us Aether Elementals. In reality they are part of an insignificant, miniscule remnant that join together with thousands of other remnants to form planes of existance. One realm of living beings collapses into nothingness, while thousands of others continue existing."

Shock and disbelief filled the room, but mostly, fear. Fear that they were all on a course to leave existence forever. Fear that everything would just disappear and that would be the end of it. Fear that, no matter what they did, no matter what happened, they could not stop their destruction from occurring.

Ren was the first to break the silence. "There must be some way to stop this! If we can only stop this null energy from consuming us! There's definitely a way to stop them! I've even seen these null creatures be defeated!"

"Oh?" Genuine surprise spread on Isharugi's face "You know how to stop the null?"

"Of course!" Ren said, his tone slightly more angry than he intended, "These null creatures seem to feed off elemental energy, but they're also weak to elemental energy! Surely! If all the elementals of all elements united together...there must be something that can be done! I know it!"

"And how do you intend to do that?" Isharugi's voice was cold. "The 12 elemental nations are constantly at war with each other. Never once has there been a complete peace between them. And now, even now, while the null is growing stronger, they still don't even know the threat of the null. Simply put, these ignorant, war-loving nations should just disappear if they do not learn how to get along"

There was a stunned silence in the room. One of the immortals fidgeted a bit uncomfortably.

"Please" Cameron begged, "You have to help us!"

"Honestly speaking, do you think your worlds are worthy of being saved? It is just like the cockatrice devouring the antlion, or a dragon devouring a wyrm. It is all part of the cycle of natural harmony, and here, elemental and null energy shall be joined as one" Isharugi's voice was quiet, but stern.

"I don't believe this" Galnath shook his head, "We really are all doomed..."

"NO!" Ren shouted, "This won't happen! Look, Lady Isharugi, if we twelve elemental nations can all ally together, and you direct us to the center of this null, I am sure we can unite and solve this problem! The twelve nations may not love each other, but in the face of a crisis like this, they have to! I'll go and beg every single nation's leaders and citizens myself if I have to! We can't just give up like this!" Ren pounded his fist into the wall and the wall's textured wobbled, generating a small wave that scuttered along the room.

"And who do you think you are? You are just some air elemental. Even if you were able to convince your own kingdom, that's not even ten percent of the energy you would need, not to mention, those death and earth elementals would never listen to you-"

"You're wrong" Ren interrupted the leader of Etheria, "I know they will listen because...I'm not a pure air elemental" Ren took off his hood. "I am also half death"


When the initial surprise and shock was over, Isharugi, still calm, quietly asked "So, even if you are able to convince the air elementals and the death elementals to join sides, that is only still two of the twelve elements. How do you intend to get the other ten?"

Ren was silent for a while before finally replying, "Lady Isharugi. I beg of you. Please help us stop this crisis. I-no, we, beg that you use your elemental energies and elementals to help us.

"...And why should I help you? Even if it meant no loss to us, you still have not given me an adequate reason for why we should help your world, and you. I appreciate your enthusiasm, it reminds me a bit of when I was younger, but you have nothing to back up your words. How do I know you, and your world is worthy of our help?"

Ren thought a bit before answering. "A class 4 elemental criminal broke free from Etheria. Would you please be willing to consider helping us if we were to catch him back for you?"

All faces turned to the Lady as she answered.

After walking 10 meters into the Frozen North, Aquarius felt dry and cold. He quickly ran back into the comparatively warm ocean, spotting a figure walking downwards from the mountain. Aquarius waved at the figure, then waited for a response.

With a forum RP like this, there is very little need to post all the time. No more than once per day and often less when not in a group (like I'm not now), and much more when you have a large group of people. Some of you are moving way too quickly :3
