MAR #2 - Elements Style

Just a thought but would it be worthwhile to add a ban on QTs? I enjoy playing pillar based rainbows, but they seem to kind of screw up the challenge of this event for those of us that don't have elemental restrictions.

It might be a good idea to limit QTs on the earlier matches (e.g. 1-3), where opponents don't have as many advantages and can't switch out decks. (Perhaps giving some sort of in-story handwave on why we can't use them early on, and then remove it later.) In later matches though more flexibility might be necessary, IMHO, especially when enemies with more upgrades and the ability to switch decks start appearing.

It was another morning full of sunshine. "Hmm that was a good sleep." The Prince yawned lazily, but the fight between the mortals last week was unforgettable. "Mortals are bound to be weaker when they have no healing power afterall."

He walked towards the source of the sunshine. The view was quite magnificent. It was a big forest with endless number of trees, oddly with the same height. It was so dense that the other end of the forest was not able to be seen, but mere darkness with only one muddy path that leads into it.

Quiet as it seemed, the peaceful tweeting and chirping was suddenly disrupted. A human-figure rushed into the forest with such an incredible speed that only a shadow appeared. The Prince quickly followed its path and stops dead before a dead deer which was apparently just got killed. He stared at the trunk of a nearby tree, "Yes, it is blood. How disrespectful." He secretly loves to protect little animals when his mother tell him stories about the forest. He took out his shiny white blade quietly, and slashed the air behind the tree. The figure barely escaped, and they are face to face now.

It was a red haired girl, dressed in a traditional eastern costume. "A ninja girl? Swee-" It was only a split second when the Prince saw a red flash in her sharp eyes and realized her dash into him with her hiding blade. Prince Icronite evaded elegantly, his cape floating carelessly in the air. "Well, if you insist..."

An easy victory.  The only problems that arose came from the limiting rules of this battle halting my raw power.  My opponent never stood a chance.

Game 2 - With a better idea of what I was dealing with, continuing with aether seemed to be the best course, while ditching the dims.

Tseem hastened to put the finishing touches on his latest work of art. Even as he shaped the translucent blade of his new sword he could hear harsh sounds echoing up from the valley floor where his friends had made camp. The Chess Pieces had attacked, and the din of battle reached his ears even up in this remote eyrie where he'd set up the forge. He had to pause and breath for a moment, as the excitement of battle had already begun to overtake him, and he couldn't perform the delicate final details with hands that kept shaking with adrenaline. Regaining his composure, he cooled the exotic blade with an icy wind and leapt nimbly down the mountainside. At the bottom, he dashed into the midst of the melee and sought out a suitable opponent against which to test the virgin sword.

...The Prince might have escaped from the slashing blade, but a bolt of fire ejected from the flashing blade and burned the beautiful cape into ashes. He quickly muttered a few healing spells, hoping to recover it. But at the same time the violent slashes from the opponent are coming non-stop, with the blade starting to glow. The Prince can barely defend with his white blade, while summoning the natural force of the forest. The ninja dealt with them mercilessly, and with another bolt of fire the Prince is blew into mid-air. He can only managed to hide into a nearby cave before fainting...

The Prince is badly injured. He never thought that he can be beaten so easily. "No, normal healing spells aren't gonna help..." He is quite out of his mind. "I shall summon the forbidden power!" The power of Darkness, from his royal education, has always been forbidden. But now as he feel the danger approaching, and he had no choice.

Crawling in the darkness in the cave, they battled silently but fiercely. Occasionally a flaming sword can be seen, but the Prince can always hide from it. Suddenly, there is a groan from the ninja, as the Prince stole her sword. As soon as this happens, the earth started to shake, and the cave is collapsing without a reason. The Prince is stunned by the sudden events, while the ninja took off the mask. Turns out it was a boy, and with a strange smirk on his face. "Pfft. Remember my name. I am ~Napawn, the proud brother of ex-Grand Master ~Napalm!" And with a hop, he disappeared out of thin air.

The cave is still collapsing. Big rocks are dropping from the ceiling of the cave, blocking the escape routes. The Prince already used up his strength in the battle. He conjured a protective shield around himself, and sent a signal to his team members, hoping they can receive it in time to save him as a giant rock dropping straight onto his head...

Tseem chuckled with glee as he engaged the strange catlike Chess Piece. A puff of wind bore him aloft and with each exaggerated swing of his iridescent blade a shower of needle like projectiles whistled down. The flurries of spines impaled the creature's cute pink kitten-like minions while wearing down it's defenses, and soon enough Tseem stood irreverently upon the bodies of his short-lived foe and let out a manic laugh.
