Synopsis:
After a while, you decide. I'll take the economy suite, you say. She gives you a small card with the number 310. Your room will be on the third floor, the last one on the right, she tells you. You thank her and depart. The card slides into a slot on the door to unlock it, and you walk in, shutting the door behind you.
The room is clean and simple, with a small bathroom, kitchen area, and two beds big enough for two, with a window on the far end. You set your purse and vest on the first bed, to sleep in comfort, and crash on the second. You think about the whirlwind of the last two days before falling asleep.
*chirp* You gained 7 HP
You wake up feeling quite rested and ready to leave again. After some reorganizing of your items, you depart and exit the hotel, waving to the receptionist on your way out. As you walk back out onto the streets of Falcon Peak, you hear a loud commotion that seems to be about three blocks away.
Curious as always, you walk quickly to that location, and an younger man, though still imposing, is on the ground collecting his belongings in what seems to be a briefcase, while a small figure clothed in black seems to be running in the opposite direction. You run over to him.
He looks up. Can I help you? you ask with concern. That thief just stole some of my stuff, that little rascal did. He notices your vest. Are those scrolls in there? he asks. You reply with a nod, and he tells you, It usually takes some sort of skill to get those. Do you think you could chase him down?
You tell him yes, and he rummages in his pocket for a small rock amulet, which he gives to you. He steals using scrolls, and this helps against what he does, but I couldn't pull it out in time. It's not nearly as powerful as it once was, but it may help. I do want it back though. you nod, and run off in the direction you saw the thief go.
You notice he's left footprints, outlined in the dirt with thick shoes, and you follow them, until you reach what seems to be an abandoned shack. It's only faintly illuminated inside, and you follow the footprints far inside. Then you hear a click, barriers crash around you, and spotlights on the ceiling are turned on.
You look around, and you can't go back, nor can you escape on either side. The only place is straight forward, where several spotlights converge on a pedestal, and someone who must be the thief walks onto it. He grimaces. [/i]I was hoping for someone more challenging to discover this...shame,[/i] he hisses.
His taunting angers you, but you hold your tongue in check, and boldly walk forward. [/i]I'm stronger than you if I don't have to resort to this kind of stealing and traps,[/i] you remark, and he laughs. At least your heart is in the right spot. But it shan't be anywhere I don't want it to... He flips another switch.
The spotlights from the ceiling turn off, and lights no wider than your hand turn on and brighten the room. Then the spotlights are cut and crash to the ground, one narrowly missing you. You think that all he seems to want to do is scare you. You hold your ground, and realize the only way out is in.
You realizing you'll have to fight him to get out, but should you try to lead him off guard first, or attack him immediately?
