Synopsis:
You walk back through the forest, deciding your best options are to find ways to strength yourself and to learn about the crystals. The walk through the forest is quicker than you remember it, and in no time at all you see the cabin again. Using it as a guide, you walk around the mountain until you reach a small man-made cavern into the mountain.
Entering the cavern, which is lined with simplistic torches, you notice it's widening in all directions, including sloping down, until it opens into an immense cavern, with tons of buildings and natural beauty from the outside world. It seems to be a village carved and built up within the mountain, illuminated lightly from every direction.
Directly in front of you is a path with stone buildings on both sides, and on the right is a painted mural proclaiming a welcome to Falcon Peak. You walk into the center aisle and notice a sign on the building noting 'Falcon Peak || Welcome Center || Falcon Peak 059'. You realize this syntax is the same as Vino's business card.
You enter and walk into a lobby. There are chairs and books all around the lobby and a angled metal box on one end. Directly in front is a reception desk made of stone and metal, occupied by a kindly woman, and walkways further into the building. You walk up to her.
Hello, what can I do for you? she asks politely. I'm looking for a place to rest or strengthen myself, and a place to find information, you reply. Wonderful, this is an excellent place for both. There's a hotel and recreational center on- She frowns. Do you know how our numbering system works? You shake your head.
We divide this mountain into 10 floors with 100 mostly square blocks in each. The first number is the floor - ground level is 0, top level is 9. On every floor, the second number is the column number, from left to right as you walk in, and the third number is distance back, with 0 being the farthest back.
Also, some blocks - mostly residential - have more than one building. These are marked with letters, for example 122-A. It's simple once you're used to it. She smiles again, pauses, and then continues. Anyway, the hotel and rec center is on block 180, and there's a library on block 327.
Thanks, that helps a lot. I'll make sure to come back if I need anything else.
You turn to leave and she waves at you. You decide to make your way up to the library first. It’s sort of nestled in the middle of a group of blocks on the fourth floor, and you walk in. First you speak with a staff member, and he directs you to a corner with touch screen and books on the legends of the land.
Using a database, you find two books that seem relevant to the crystals. The first, entitled ‘Myths of the Crystal Guard’, seems to be about the nymphs contained in the crystals, and the second, ‘Elemental Alchemy: A Historical Overlook’, seems to pertain to the vials and liquid.
You check out your books, find a small parchment notebook and modernized feather pen for notes if needed, and depart for the rec center. It’s on the floor right above ground floor, nestled in a back corner. You walk in, and another reception desk is straight ahead, this one with a beautiful view of a large pool.
This seems to be the lobby, with signs on the left leading to the hotel, and on the right pointing to the pool and recreation areas. You notice another long metal box on the right side, and walk up to it. It’s various maps of the facility, and you make a note to always check these out. Then you walk up to the reception desk.
Hello, I want to rent a hotel room, you ask politely. Sure. We have three different classes of rooms, with the cheapest having only mild amenities and the more expensive having more to choose from, she informs you. Okay. What do I pay with? you ask. If you’re an elemental, you can use quanta.
You vaguely remember hearing about quanta, which seems to be a sort of energy you can channel, and reply, Alright, let me decide which I want. She smiles and says, Take your time. You’re not sure how much quanta you have, but you do know it’s quite a bit because of your pillars.
You sit and ponder…
| Notes:
I intend to take a short (week-long) hiatus from Elements in the next couple weeks. If this occurs, I would like someone to take over for one, maybe two rounds.
Please post here or PM me if you feel confident in your writing, because that’s the major part. I would give fairly detailed instructions on plot, but creative liberty would be in your hands.
Also, this round introduces the first currency in the game: quanta. Not all places will use this, but where health is concerned, this will be the norm.
Options - Polling Phase:
You intend to rest at a hotel. You must use quanta to pay. Decide which room class to take.
1) Choose an economy suite. (5-10 healing, 20 random quanta) 2) Choose a moderate suite. (8-13 healing, 30 random quanta) 3) Choose a luxury suite. (11-16 healing, 40 random quanta)
