I've helped with those things, but couldn't say I do them myself.

I've done some electronics for friends who wanted flashy stuff for their cosplay.

I was introduced to LARPing by a friend who said it saved her from depression and I should come check it out. As silly as people might think it is, it's actually pretty darn cool in person. I helped with tasks outside of play, but it was neat seeing how passionate everyone was and how much fun they were having playing out their character.

I love cosplay, but I'm not much into larping. I've watched others, and it seems like it could be fun, but that's a little outside my comfort zone. Cosplay and cons for a short time is about as flashy as I get  I will say that many cosplayers are apathetic (just like to dress up, lol) while many larpers are, like you said antiaverage, passionate. Trying to work on my next costume, but it's difficult to find the time (and it's not true cosplay if you don't make it yourself, right? haha)

I'm liking that attitude, the fun of the art is in showcasing your creative skills. I really only dabble, largely 'cause I can't afford to spend months on something like my Starlord helmet every time I have a crazy idea, but I do enjoy the experience.

I've been to a LARP, but enjoy the story and being a part of it much more than the actual costuming side.

Thrift stores are my friend for materials! I really only craft a costume a year and will reuse some pieces if I can. Admittedly, I'm behind this year. My sweet, caring, every-so-thoughtful boyfriend has kindly pushed me to work on this year's cosplay (Juno Eclipse). Slow but it's coming along.

I've never been involved enough with a larp to get into the story part much.

Far, far too poor and bad at crafts to really get into it. I LARP quite often, but in modern settings (usually for horror based roleplays). I have one cosplay outfit, that being Dr. Insano from the Spoony Experiment, but it's arguably more of a Halloween costume since that's the only time I wear it
