Why do ppl from other religions fight against each other?

Well,ppl argue that their religion is better than others but Why? is my question.
Pls help me.  ???

The Catholics and the Protestants did a number on each other in the Thirty Years' War.  The Catholics did a fine job fighting themselves during the Hundred Years' War.

The Christians fought bitterly against the Muslims during the First Crusade and practically wiped out the Cathars during the Albigensian Crusade.  The Christians sacked one of the largest and most important Christian cities in the world, Constantinople, during the Fourth Crusade.

Muslim forces penetrated Western Europe as deeply as France before being stopped by Christian forces under Charles Martel at the Battle of Tours.  Muslim forces fought other Muslim forces eighteen years later at the Battle of the Zab that ended the Umayyad Caliphate.


See a pattern?  A better question would have been "why do people fight each other?"

Because people know that religion=power. If you haven't seen "Book of Eli", that movie explains it well. If you control the hope, you control the power. I think as a general rule, regardless of the religion, the people who follow it have pure intentions. However, there are people that recognize its power and try to take advantage of the followers of that religion. Crusades are one example. /The people behind them were corrupt, and took advantage of the followers of that religion to promote their own self interests. Im willing to bet many muslims agree that the "extremists" are not true followers of their religion either, and are just perverting it to progress their own self interest.

Religions are great, the people that try to manipulate them are the true evils.

the thing is, to what end are the extremists trying to achieve? all they get is hatred in return from their multiple suicides and they don't exactly inspire confidence. maybe it's just a hunger for the power to decide upon who lives and who dies.

Muslim extremists(I assume that's what you're talking about, with the suicides?) believe that if they die while destroying unbelievers, they get an instant pass into heaven. Not having ever read the Qu-ran(is that how you spell it?), I can't say for sure whether or not that's actually in Mohammad's teachings.

Naturally, the shiny, media-friendly flavor of Buddhism promoted in the West is quiet about this sort of thing.
