Prove it.
I don't have any proof. I can't figure it out, so at least for now life is meaningless for me. Only the biological, instinctual urges programmed in my brain prevents me from killing myself. I can tell you why I feel this way, but doing so would lead this thread off-topic.
But still, religion is too optimistic, assuming that there is a benevolent entity watching over us. Humans are nothing but another species of animals, so why should we get special attention?
No. We have risen above animals. To quote a line that was cheesy even in context
"With great power comes great responsibility"
We have great power. We have opposable thumbs. Working brains. A larger understanding of the universe.
But we lack responsibility. We pollute the world. We fight amongst ourselves (one of the only species who do that)
We don't deserve special attention. We should be the ones giving special attention. We are the ones who have it all, but aren't giving back.
On Topic: BS, the whole point of this post is to show that religion makes people happier/optimistic. Even if you don't think it is possible for there to be anything, other than humanity to be controlling us, try to think liike that. Judging by the way you're posting, a little beleif, even in some kind of karma system would probably improve your day to day life.
