The fact is that we see the universe this way because if it were any other way, we would not be around to see it.

We may ask questions about how complex the human brain is, and how it could not have evolved by chance, but the fact is that if it hadn't evolved, we wouldn't be able to ask those questions.
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

I refuse to believe that water makes a funnel shape when it goes down the drain by mere chance. It is obviously directed into that shape by GOD through his magical supernatural invisible deity powers.

My point was that no one is claiming the universe came into existence by chance. No one that I am aware of. Science doesn't make that claim either. Just as water goes down the drain the way it does because of how physics works, the creation of the universe can be explained scientifically.

So yes, the OP is a strawman.

Are people calling statistical pressures along with insanely large space and trillions of years to be mere chance?

I really think that, separate from any religious argument, our semantic definitions here matter.
That which can be destroyed by the truth should be. Speak the truth even when your voice falters.

Furthermore, there are plenty of atheists who believe in determinism, which precludes chance.
