1) God didn't create hell. Satan, a fallen angel, did. God didn't create the imperfections either; in fact he made man in his own image according to the Bible. We were perfect. Until Adam and Eve got tempted by Satan, making us sinners.
"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels." -- Matthew 25:41.

Jesus said that the 'eternal fire', one would assume this is hell, is prepared for the devil. Since the devil cannot create anything, according to the same bible, we can only assume that God made hell.

So long and thanks for all the fish!

First off, you seem to misunderstand what hell is. Hell is being separate from your Creator, or God, in the afterlife. Heaven is going to be by his side. (Yes, Hell is eternal torment because of this).

Anyway, you're right. I misspoke. Satan didn't create hell. I just said that to get my point across. God didn't make it either, though he did allow for the possibility.

When God gave angels free will, some decided to break off and separate themselves from Him. These angels (Satan their leader) were then in hell. So in effect, free will created hell, but the choice that created it was made by Satan and the angels following him.

Actually, hell was a very real place.  Before christianity was around, followers of other gods would make sacrifices in a valley outside of Jerusalem (the Valley of Hinnom).  The valley later became a place where the residents of Jerusalem would burn their trash and dead bodies.  It was said that the fire never died there.  The word used for "hell" in the Bible, Gehenna, is a direct reference to this valley.  The kicker?  Sulfur ("brimstone") deposits were found in the valley, hence why people call hell a "burning lake of sulfur".

The Bible means very much that hell is a place sinners go to be punished for eternity.

Holy, now we are discussing Bible? Shouldn't there be a separate thread for this? Because god exists in more religions than just Christian.

I won't dispute that the Bible sometimes uses that place as a symbol for the real hell.

I won't dispute that hell is a place sinners go to be punished for eternity, because it is.

I really don't see how that comment ties into the debate.

The Harry Potter books are completely fictional, but the events in the Bible actually occurred.
Actually Bible is a collection of real life events mixed with made up stories and myths. Nothing more. No person with common sense would ever consider the Bible as a credible source of information.

Did you know that historians who lived during the time of Jesus, NONE of them wrote anything about him? You would think that maybe.. just maybe they would mention a guy who walked on water, cured the sick and resurrected?! But no, they didn't mention him once. First time Jesus was ever mentioned in written text was hundreds of years after his supposed death.

There is actually a theory that a character called Jesus didn't even exist. I suggest you watch a documentary called "Zeitgeist" for more information. It's the best documentary ever created by man. It will blow your mind.
The bible as was mentioned earlier was written by man and the "TRUE" version of the bible King jame wass changed to fi the needs so is it really true.

Here's an idea: Go to college. Write an essay about Jesus using only the Bible as your source.

Also, Puppy, please watch this before making your next post. At the very least, it should make you think a little.

I really liked the first part of that video.  I did not know a lot about astrology or how it connected to religions.  (Before I just connected religions with other religions)

Vrt... Shall I use my retarded comment on you?
Because, it appears that you deserve it more.
For one, who would write an Essay on Jesus for a report?
Two, an essay, or report, is a documentary of facts, having nothing to do with religion, or beliefs.
Three, even if someone would, why use only a bible as a necessity?  There are documented reports, dozens of religions, based on that one statement. To me, that seems like a fact, that someone, named Jesus existed.

Okay? Understand? Got that into your tiny mind of yours? Kay, thanks, bye.

Also, Vrt, please watch this before making your next post. At the very least, it should completely make Zeitgeist seem really stupid and false and just another conspiracy theory (which it is). http://www.publicchristianity.com/Videos/zeitgeist.html - watch it all; it's only 7 minutes long.

And if you still don't think Zeitgeist is really stupid, read this: http://www.skeptic.com/eskeptic/09-02-25/#feature

It will probably take you a bit longer, maybe not that hour and fifty minutes of utter nonsense you made me watch though :).
