i just noticed the ads are geared to the thread, for instance in thread 'homosexuality a sin?' i got atlantis gay cruise-now im getting muslim girls in uk. who controls this and why?
No one associated with the forum "controls" it, unless you mean signing up with an ad service at all. Ad services detect keywords and provide ads with the same keywords. It's all automated. It would be absurdly impractical for a human being to make those decisions manually for each topic.

I don't see any ads because I use Adblock Plus on Firefox (though I might make an exception for this site to support the forum). If ads bother you, you could do the same.

Its a very naughty film, about Brian, who is born at the same time as Jesus, and is mistaken for the Messiah.

It was accused of blasphemy, and caused religious protests on its release in 1979.

It's very, very funny!
Actually, as a Pythonist, I can add tuppence to this...

Life of Brian was intended to lampoon several things, one major theme being that of zealotism. It was originally going to be a film starring Jesus (with a working title "Jesus Christ - Lust For Glory"), however, the lads soon decided this would be detrimental to the themes they truly wanted to address, and switched focus to the boy who was born in the stable next door.

Unfortunately, members of the religious community of the day missed the subtle difference between satirising Jesus, and satirising the human reaction to Jesus, and as you mentioned, accused the film and Pythons of blasphemy. So much so, that today, many people interpret, or at least, have heard, that the film is actually what it was accused of, rather than what it is.

If that slightly twisty premise still makes sense...

NB: I'm not actually including you in that number, Artois. You seem bright enough to tell your elbow from your derrier.
