I remember beating the gods with my mono aether deck and winning cards and not wanting to sell them because they were good lol

First thing newbies should do is reduce the deck to 30 cards, keeping 15 pillars.

Sell everything else and start buying better cards within your color/element, because the cards on the starting decks suck.

Then keep grinding level 3 to complete the 500 score quest and get your rare weapon.

heh, bit off topic but I find it funny how long it took me to get to 500 points at first now i can get 80 or even 120 points from each game
