Is this deck still viable in 1.23? (I mean the main deck, not the alternatives)

I've been using this, and I am officially a convert.  I have also come to the conclusion that a lot of the proposed tweaks to this deck trade off too much of its speed.

Why didn't you ever destroy Destiny's Eternity in that video?

Your main deck looks nice although I'm a little skeptical about a couple of things missing. My own FG killer is based on this and the the nova FG killer although I've tweaked it a bit to this slightly bigger version which seems to work fairly well. The gravity shield was a later addition but it's already saved my ass numerous times. :P
Haven't actually tested it with the bond in there yet but I do sometimes find myself in need of a few extra life so it can't hurt (and makes those masteries slightly easier).

Code: [Select]
4vo 52n 592 5up 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6rn 6rn 6rn 6rn 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u6 71b 71b 749 74b 74b 7am 7dl 7do 7do 7gp 7n3 7q5 7q5 7q8 80h 80h 80h
I mainly don't like your reliance on the single bone shield as I quite often find it takes a bit of a going to get the oty up with the shield at the right time. True your deck is 6 cards smaller but I dont think that'd make a lot of difference. On an unrelated note, I also find I tend to run out of time quanta (or at least use it slightly faster than I gain it) so only use hourglasses or rewinds when I really have to.

Yes, I do think I probably have too many shields in there but they've all come in handy. The bone walls buy you a turn if nothing else and I've already mentioned the virtue of the gravity shield (invaluable addition imo). The fire buckler is probably questionable but I sometimes find it useful for clearing lots of low level monsters, killing immaterial/burrowed ones or simply putting creatures in range of my otyughs.

Anyway, just thought I'd ask what you think considering you seem to know what you're doing. ^^

40 card is too big to keep a consistent result with only 2 hourglass, and my deck rely alot on permafrost shield too
and you have to control the style you play to optimise your farming result, and you will eventually learn them slaying a few thousand FG's, lol ;D

Happy Farming!

Yea I've read 40 cards to be too big in other places too lol.

That said, I beat Rainbow, Seism and Dark Matter for the first time today with that deck so it can't be that bad; I figure the smaller version is a bit more reliable as you get the cards you need slightly more often?

I can't stress enough how many times the gravity shield has come in handier than the ice shield though!
I've been purposefully mutating some of the more problematic creatures in the hope that they turn into a dragon or something with high hp which is then doomed to be eternally blocked by my shield XD
Not to mention it's handy when dealing with immortal creatures like phase dragons and shuts down Osiris  utterly. I beat him 2/2 today because he decked out. ^^

I do see the virtue of lowering the size a little bit just I'm really not sure what I want to take out...
I removed the fire shield and replaced it with another steal though which just gives me a bit more peace of mind vs some gods.

I actually find I try to avoid using the hourglasses unless I absolutely have to because time quanta gets short very fast if you're not careful and decking out can become a real issue so i've not had a problem on that front.

i agree with gravity shield, but the problem is it doesnt work with some gods. and his deck's main problem will lie with only having 2 hourglass because 40 card will be slow it is good on the right draw, but not consistent over the long run

Aha, thanks for the reply!

I reckon I should look into ways to make it smaller. Plus does it really hurt to have both the gravity and ice shield just in case? :P

I've found that the gravity shield boosts my performance versus some gods tremendously even if it goes down versus a few others.

If you find using both better, then its great, but most of the time Gravity quanta will run low due to using oty.

I think that would be a problem as well, however, it would be nice syergy because anything you cant eat would be stopped by the shield. Just getting both out would be a pain.

Well that's the beauty of it - you don't need to get both of them out.

Get out the oty and things tend to go well from there.
Get out the shield and most of their creatures can't hit you so you only take minor damage which the shards can take care of.

And the upgraded shield is only 3 gravity Quanta so it isnt particularly expensive. If anything, it gives you immediate results instead of having to wait a few turns while otyughs take them out one by one.
