Remember that you can deal up to 48 damage in 1 turn, but YOU DON'T HAVE TO ALWAYS GO FOR IT, as sometimes you'll get a quick stack of SoV early on, so do your math before moving and to get things simpler i made naiz list of damage possibilities for you lazyerrrr:

With that in mind remember that you can do a maximum of 18 max hp reduction x turn, so again,pair that with the damage you will capable of doing next turn before starting to draw like a madman ending up with not enought damage on the next turn.
Also remember that if the situations gets scary YOU DON'T HAVE TO ALWAYS OTKO YOUR OPPO, even if it is HIGLY RECCOMENDED.
