Title: Timebow: still got it
Post by: mega plini on May 14, 2012, 12:06:57 am
After the supernovanerf, my old controlbow wasn't good enough anymore. So I had to come up with something different. I came up with the Idea of a time bow.
I remember these were pretty good back  in the old days. And I must say, The results are better than I expected. I use this deck to farm gold, but it can kick some serious PvP butt as well. The goldleague matches are EM most of the time, so you get worth for the trouble.

this is it

Deck import code : [Select]
6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6tt 6u6 71b 74b 752 77f 7ah 7do 7do 7do 7gv 7k2 7n3 7q5 7q5 7q5 7q5 7t9 80a 80j 8ps

It works pretty simple.
Get out the hourglases ASAP, you can only win true drawing a lot of extra cards. the mindgate is of equal importance.
The firestorms are the absolute stars of the deck. Use them to take out as many attackers as you can. don't be affraid of using them early, you have plenty to go around. The thunderbolt is for emergencies only, as it is your only bolt, use it wise and don't start shooting at every Giant frog you see.
Oty, Ulitharid and the Maxwell demon make  sure that no treat stays on the board.
Steal is an obvious inclusion, same with Pulvy. Repeatable permanent control is allways good.
Shard of Focus is perfect here. play it as soon as you can, destroying permanents right away. The Black hole it generates is used aas extra healing after a miracle to get an EM.

About the stats. I haven't recorded the matches I played with this. I've been playing this deck for almost two months now. I can only guess a those stats. But one thing is sure, it works.

The deck doesn't work that good against Plat. So don't waste your time.
The Timebow is back!!!!

I get your point for the quint and the PA. This makes the deck more consistent overall. But one of the things I've been trying to do while building this deck was to cut down the number of cards to the very lowest possible. At first this was the 30 card minimum but I found myself decking out to often. 35 cards is the perfect balance. You get to draw what you need more often because of the reduced deck size, this is what I believe a fundamental difference with the older timebows I have seen.

That is exactly the reason I did not put greaveyards in it. There is no place for it, I wouldn't know what to take out for it. I can see however it has great potential. I will experiment with some Graveyard Ideas (after I get the amount of  :electrum required to do all the upgrades), That will be my next project.

SoG nerf really did hurt this deck archetype.
