I don't know about putting steal in since when choosing perm control i went for using 1 .  I agree that liquid shadow could be a good card to Survive/EM (or survive and EM).

Edit: The thing is, I wouldn't want to enlarge the deck too much. Started out as a pure buff+ pegasus deck. Trial and Error brought about the Explosions, Quintessence, nova (exceeding the original 30 cards) .But Liquid shadow might be the next step for this deck.
