Shard of Void stalling Rainbow https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=35504.msg446841#msg446841

Hello again,
I've just build this deck and it sliced through gold arena like a knife in the butter (almost). I wanted to have the shard of void shine like the star it could be.
Any suggestion would be appreciated though

How does it win? Waiting shards of void to bring current hp = max hp = 0?

SoV (Shard of Void) brings the aforemented enemy's HP to 1 (it can't reduce it below that), but the Pulverizer finishes it.

The problem I see with this deck is that the quanta balance is very strained; without nova (which I can understand due to the mark being :darkness), early black holes will rip you apart, especially if you don't have an early sanctuary and charitable quantum towers to give you the :light quanta you need. Furthermore, this deck is like a more SoV-oriented Rage Quit deck, but without Thorn Carapace and an excess of PA's...

This is the version I'm 'testing', to help speed it up in case you get a somewhat towerless draw.

Maybe more cards from  :darkness ?
2 improved steals seems to be a waste of the mark.
PVE shouldn't be all about copying a deck code and converting time into electrum, score, and potentially rares.
If the only way to derive fun from a game is its PVP content, then non-hardcore players a.k.a. the mass are alienated from the hardcore community.

I've tried this deck again and again (multiple versions with just darkness, dark and earth, rainbow, rainbow 60 cards...): it doesnt' work.

Eternity would have been a great addition, but it misses space and it is hard to CC all the critters gold arena decks throw at you.
It works its best against bronze and sometimes silver decks... I am really looking for something more reliable...

some other points of view?
Kuroaitou, has your version worked better?

***TRIALS RESPONSE***
Even though I like the starting idea I spotte some things that I didn't liked in your deckbuilding.

First of all the shield, you use mirror and jade shield, they are for me the weakest shield in the game and don't really like to use them without malignant cell so You should take that out. There are many good shield in elements you don't use that can be used, I specially think about dim shield and permafrost.

Then you have 2 explosion + 2 steal + 2 pulvy isn't that too much PC ? you don't really care about shield so why do you bother using all that PC ? take out 2 pulvy and both deflag.

Then see what you took for CC : 2 AM 2 pandly shockwave and plague. you don't see any contradiction here ? you'll kill the creature you AM with that. You have to make a choice and as I really like pandly and will use Rain of Fire I'd take out the AM even though I really like them.

To kill your ennemies I think the best card is simply an unupped poison : it'll kill your opponent whatever he has.

Then you need even more defense I think and there is a card that fit perfectly well in a creatureless deck it's sundial, it's also very effective with your plague and will allow you to draw through your deck to find more SoV.

After all those modification I ended with that :

I like permanents to stay where I put them (and avoid spells, too), that's the reason I use crappy shields (wall o bone is the best shield, I think, but you need to kill creatures).

about AM and mass CC: you are right again, I just wanted to differenciate between different situations. Again, I will follow your suggestion.

Same for poison, but one thing: often some speed is needed before getting killed: having to wait for the single one card that can kill the opponent is bad. I suppose sundials should compensate for this.

all in all great suggestions, thank you!  :D

I like most of ralouf's suggestions, but I'll add one thing:

-keep one Pulverizer.  Poison can make the kill most of the time, but if your opponent has played a couple purifies beforehand, it won't work.  Pulverizer can give you the win against decks with purify.  Of course, there's the permanent removal aspect which is the main reason to use it, as well.

Yeah you're right dragon you may keep one pulvy in your deck it must help in case of mass poison and with 2 cards to kill your opponent you should draw one when you need it.

You can use bone wall yes it's an awesome shield too, but then you may play more CC (take back shockwave and lightning which make 2 more way to kill your opponent and play BW, I think both version will work but the one with phase shield and wings seems better vs no PC deck

This isn't really working for me, to put it into something relative it feels like I'm grinding with CCYB without the SoGs. Maybe the sundials version will be better.

Sundial version definitely rocks.

Usually, if the shards arrive, you don't fear decking out, so I dropped eternity and photon altogether.

instead remains the problem with CC, so I swapped to 2 AM and 1 Aflatoxin. and i'm trying this version (this calls back mirror shield and saves me from nasty exlosions on my wings...).
I will let you know if it works somehow.
