I know, "CCYB, wow buddy, real original, *sneer*". But I couldn't find one with this approach, so I'm putting it here for discussion.

The key difference between Golem-versions is an emphasis on Fractal + SoP. You have to play your creatures carefully as you only have 3, but Salvager + SoP is a great combo, and if you don't think your creatures will survive don't play them until you can Fractal.

I added Chrysaora to add a second method of offense via poison. The 31st card was Precognition, because it is useful more often than not and will let you outlast a 30-card deck as long as you don't play it. Another useful addition might be Steal (to take back what's stolen from beneath your Salvagers' protection!)

It does well in PvP1, though I have no stats for comparison.

It's also very flexible (I just Fractalled somebody's Nymphs so that they would Aflatoxin them to death — they didn't know I had SoP: )

Please be respectful if you decide to shoot down my deck title (I never really learned exactly what the "CCYB?" deck is!)

"CCYB" is "Creature Control? Why Bother?" For starters the original deck never really had any CC (except for Antimatter if you consider that soft CC.) The quints also usually made any CC that the opponent had useless. Now, which one of these made "CCYB" get the name it had is beyond me, although I believe it to be the first one.

Clearly you don't have CC so it's not a problem.

1. CCYB had Pulverizers (permanent control), Jade/Permafrost (shields with high DR, and permafrost OP), and an FFQ (damage ramp and to prepare for golem spam). Out of these, your deck really needs a substitute for the first two, e.g. gravity-pulled SoFos.

2. Fog makes Antimatter'd creatures miss, so I'd rather use something like Procrastination.

@Pineapple Good points, but I feel the game plan needs to change a little for PvP1 (CCYB was for FGs, I think?).

I haven't found permanents to be that threatening. The poison from Fractal Chrysaora gets around the Phase Shields one expects in PvP1, and with SoP a OTKO is possible.

You have a good point about the shields. I think Emerald Shield is too weak unupgraded, but I'd still consider Ice Shield a good candidate. My worry is that its higher cost will make it too little too late vs some rushes. The joy of Fog is, of course, it's so cheap. Also I tested Fog vs Antimatter: it doesn't make them miss :P

I thought Steal would be a good addition, because the best way around a Fractal spam of Salvagers is Steal (in which case, you'll want to Steal your stuff back!).

Indeed, AM works as Momentum except for the following shields: Wings, Gravity Shield and Dimensional Shield. However, a bug with AM and Dims makes enemy creatures heal you even when you have Dims up (or perhaps the unintended feature is that your creatures cannot heal past your enemy's Dims).

Steal would be the best PC since it would buy you a turn against Monoaethers and work well with Salvagers. Consider a Warden for the SoP and Fractal since you're low on CC and your quanta-generation is slow. If we assume those two changes and removing the Precog, we're at 31 cards. I would then, personally, remove 1 Fractal. Not gonna deck out in PvP1 with this kind of stallbreaking power once you have a Steal.

It's nice to see old decks revived.

I would change the precog and a fractal for a steal and a weapon, I don't like having that slot empty. I would choose fahrenheit, since you're not using any fire quantum anyway, plus fahrenheit is good in long games.

Thanks for the input.

It's hard to be sure of what's best. Warden works well but again, because Quanta is slow, there are times in the early game when you can't afford his ability, and doesn't Fractal well. Reducing it to 2 Fractals can also be risky if you get a bad hand and one doesn't show up till the last 5 cards — by then it could be too late to start powering up with SoP.

Steal is a definite winner, but atm I'm still using 31 cards, –Precognition.
