Title: Modified Golems! (Incredibly fast and strong!) [PvP2][Bronze]
Post by: Gandora on November 11, 2011, 11:05:01 pm
Hey there!

I'm actually very proud of this deck, and I hope you like it!  :D
Essence's Deck "Little Miss Fire" inspired me.
I tried lots of combinations and variations, and found this to be the fastest.
Of course you can still try to prove me wrong ;)

A nice looking deck however...
Why Epinephrine when the attack is so high?

Because unstoppable on golem > give them 7 attack and 7 attack is good with epi, moreover TU is good with epi.

Because unstoppable on golem > give them 7 attack and 7 attack is good with epi, moreover TU is good with epi.
Also it often helped me to surpass freeze or procrastination  :)

Why no graboids?

Why no graboids?
Because golems and Grabs is too expensive.

But why golems (and epi) over graboids (and frogs)?

Because it is the theme of the deck maybe ?

Slapping an unstoppable on a shrieker is waiting for a bolt.

Slapping an unstoppable on a golem is a lifetime-investment.

I frequently use golems instead of grabs in earthy decks
because that strategy is much less likely to collapse.
The two-turn investment is already the same (4 quanta for 12 damage).
Now consider that the critter as such is only one half of the plan
and the buff is the other ...

Very nice deck.

But why golems (and epi) over graboids (and frogs)?
Because with Epi you can do much more dmg than with a frog.
If you epi a golem with 7 atk, it does 15 dmg which is 8 more, while a frog instead deals 3.
Also a Golem doesn't die as easy. And epi helps against basilisk blood, procrastination and freeze.

Why Golem: as long as i don't use Rage elixier it has more hp than atk (depending also on chaos power).
So you're safe against maxwells demon.
with one sn and one pendulum in your opening hand you're able to put a graboid on your second turn, but have to wait
one more to evolve it. so the turn you got your shrieker is the same as you'd have the quanta for your golem. and having
two sn and two pends leads instantly to a golem but an unevolved graboid.
also, you can use rage elixier on a golem without having given any other boost to it.

in late game, because of creature control like reverse time and a black hole/discord or stuff like that, it may happen that you're not able anymore to evolve your graboids,
while a golem still does good damage.
at least those are my reasons (besides the fact that i wanted to built a golem theme deck  ;) ), but of course, those 2 atk before evolving + the 4 after can do a difference in speed by some turns :)

Looks a fun deck to play with, I only don't have golems upped :-X
What doe it farm from the leagues or is it more a deck just for ai 3 and lower?

Well... I got 3 Unstoppable, so I don't care too much about shields. Also my creatures have about 10 to 15 hp.
So til the moment they'd die the enemie's dead  ;) Also, that's why I put a steal in there x)

Actually I tested it in trainer against lvl 3, so I don't know how it does in arena. But because of the lack
of shields and heal I don't think it'd perform too well. Many people in the arena have lots of hp and
rush decks. I think it should have a chance against bronze at least and maybe some silver?
But I also tested few games against half blood (3 or 5 games) and it won them. Maybe you can modify
the deck to be usable in arena by adding hand clockers like silence or nightmare or maybe a diamond shield?
However, it'd be awesome if it'd worked in the arena. If anyone wants to test it, don't hold back :D

I often see golems with mitosis and fractal to strenghten the awesome stat/quanta ratio.Unstoppable sounds better as shield bypass than a good buff.Accelleration?

Really? Interesting idea. Reminds of Fractal Phoenix. Gotta try that  :D

Acceleration... sounds good... maybe exchange it with one unstoppable.
Definitely gonna try this out :D thanks for the idea!

Fractal golem is the bomb.
It's just a completely different build ...

All fractal decks kinda look the same and don't have much room for fancy extras cause you always need
loads of "spawn-quanta" (earth in this case), a fair amount of the target-critter (steel golem)
and at least 5  :aether towers to power a couple fractals: And beyond 30 cards you are.

The outcome for the golem case would be  THIS (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=24903.0) I guess.

Now I find that is a bit too traditional when considering the awesomeness of  :earth through the Gemfinders!

Here is a deck I used before the Gemfinder-buff:

Code: [Select]
778 778 778 778 778 778 778 778 77a 77a 77a 77c 77e 77e 77e 77e 77e 77j 808 808 808 808 808 808 80d 80i 80i 80i 80i 80i

After the Gemfinder-buff, this turns into something like:

You don't need  :earth-towers anymore which is pretty awesome, cause now you effectively got 8-14 towerslots
at your disposal to fill them up with awesomeness: Extra :aether-towers for speedcasting fractals, Diamond-shields,
QS, Phase-shields, Electrocutors, CC or even stoneskins for a 250HP+ slowroll ... you name it!  ;)

I like your deck a lot, simply because the Steel-Golem is always in the shadow of the Graboid and yet
a vastly underrated card. The above "abundance" of exactly 1 unoriginal Steel-based deck I found googling
reflects that pretty well.  :))

Thank you really much! :D
I will try some variations on my own!
(I really enjoy building decks with golems lately ^^ )

just wanted to say, that this decks works incredibly well in pvp2  :)

also bronze works well, silver is harder because they have more hp
and faster decks too, but they are doable.

(after finally having most of these cards upped i was able to test it :P)

if anyone has a a build that works better for arena, your suggestions are welcome =D
