However, bad starting hand = loss, so use it carefully.

Honestly, every deck like splat isn't as good as splat originally was. You could change this a million times to the ultimately best deck of this combo and still not be at that level imo.

It will be never as good as the original, but it can still be faster than Pdials. It all depends on your opening hand, tho.

but at the risk of not getting a tower at all.

Yes, unfortunately the deck is heavily reliant on starting hand. So use carefully, it's not as good as its pre-1.32 variant.
