BOOM! Look at that BEAUTE! Ahhh man that's some good traditional control rainbow.
So I was looking at the problems control rainbow has, and I decided to fix them.
Problem: after your deck is drawn, your card advantage ends.
Solution: Mindgate. Sure, it's more expensive, but it costs aether, which isn't used late game, and it frees up so you can use your eternity.
Problem: Pulverizer and Eternity can't both be your weapon
Solution: Butterfly effect.
Problem: Stalling deosn't always work, relies on certain draws, and is a short term fix
Solution: Shards. Shards assume that the TOTAL healing from the turns that they are in play are greater than the damage the FG deals in one turn. A sundial prevents 1 turn of damage. A shard prevents 5 damage per turn. So after 6 turns, one shard would cancel out 30 damage. If, the turn before a false god kills you, it would deal 30 damage, then you've broken even with shards. In my experience, FGs use more of a ramp deck, and when the kill you, it takes at least 6 turns and they don't have 30 damage in time. Still, switching for sundials might not be a bad call. I just think shards are better late game.
Problem: Lack of late game control. I mean... two otyugh are good... but you can't force the AI to keep feeding you, and you can't stop it from playing immortal stuff.
Solution: Aflatoxin. Free otyugh food that cannot pass your ice shield and disallows obnoxious opponents creatures.
Problem: Dark Matter
Solution: ...I'll get back to you on that one.
This isn't really new, and I suppose it isn't the best, but it provides some solutions to problems the other clichebowwhybothers have.
EDIT: So apparently mindgate is still ??. Go figure.
