Even with this version (I lacked some upgraded cards to test the first) I won against some gods (Obliterator, Seism, Jezabel, Hecate), and a majority of half blood games.

ps : after upgrading all the cards, I tend to favor this version :

Keeping two non upgraded novae reduce the chances of failing the two mulligan (6 free cards instead of 5), and increase a lot the chances to be able to do something turn one or two (like playing a supernova and most creatures, or a precog to find that supernova).
Then instead of having one gas and one 7 atk creature to strike through shields, you have 3 cards to deal with this kind of problems with steal, unstoppable you can put on a stronger creature, and titan as weapon.
That + a vampire for healing (with adrenaline eventually), and a golem to have some growing power if the opponent succeeds to stale, and a ligthning speed drawing power with one more precog.
(probably not faster than the original, without the gas direct damage, but I find it more reliable to farm silver arena and half bloods)
