Hello this is my first post and my try at creating a more or less new deck. At least I Didnt see a too similar one so far.
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 74b 74e 77f 77f 77j 77j 77j 7ah 7ah 7dm 7dm 7k2 7q4 7q4 7q4 7q4 7q5 7q5 7q5 7t9 7t9 7t9 80f 8pj

Aims when Building:
- Build a Permanent Removal Deck
- Build a good top 50 deck which isn't too boring to play
- Build a deck which is good vs standard control rainbow
- Avoid being standard rainbow
- Try to build a halfway decent PvP deck (Halfway Decent because I played only few pvps with it, but it worked. Aside from the weak Matchups, which are a gamble)

Style of Play:
- Destroy and Steal any Dangerous Permanents (Choice of Targets: Card drawers, nasty Weapons & Shields, Pillars)
- Try to keep their Pillars low
- Rewind any big creature threats
- Delay the Enemy until you get your hitters out (in most Cases its good to play them as early as possible)
- They key about playing this deck is too know the enemy deck and knowing what to destroy and steal
- Rewind is a key card. Don't play it neither to early nor too late

Weaknesses:
- Any Deck with many Cheap Creatures
- Poison
- Many Enchant Artifacts can Really hurt this deck
- Gods ;)

Matchups:
Easy:
- Rainbow
- Any deck which relies on permanents or fat creatures
Mediocre:
- Fire / Light Burn
Hard:
- Speed Poison
- Aggro Rainbow
- Mono green Weeny (And for that matter all Decks which play many small and cheap Creatures)

Card Choices:
- Obviusly I took anything that destroys or steals permanents
- I Tried Devourers but with them the Deck felt too clumsy; They are good vs Mono decks, but weaker vs Rainbow
- I Tried 2 Fire Rains, but the deck felt too clumsy again
- Why more Steal then Deflagration? Steal usually gives a bigger card advantage and the mana-cost is no problem here
- Shard of Gratitude would be nice, but I don't own them
- More Quicksand would be too Earth-Heavy
- Why 3 Hourglasses? I Need to draw at least one for Card Advantage

Possible Deck Changes:
- Maybe one Rewind more wouldnt hurt
- Eventually 2 Hourglasses are enough
- Add Elite Queen and remove one Forrest Spectre
- I am still thinking about a version with Devourers and/or Fire Rains
- I Was thinking about a Version with Scrambler and Flying Weapons. It would be more fun, but definetly less effective.

Feel free to criticize, comment and suggest improvements!

Why no Otyughs? They're sort of good against weeny, just you may have slight Gravity shortages, but you can always put a dedicated Gravity Tower in there. With you having three Hourglasses you can put things in.

This, but you may just ignore me, as I have no idea about deckbuilding, really.

Gravity Shortage is one Point. But yes Otyughs would be a good addition to the deck. Mainly I didnt include them, because when building the deck I felt that nearly every Rainbow plays them. Hence I tried to build one without them and afterwards simply forgot them. 1-2 Otys will definetly help this deck and boost it a little.

And I don't know how this could work, but you could put in Flying Weapon. You could be usine two Pulverizers. This, and it also opens the possiblity of adding Eagleeye to the deck, which is some more creature control.

Disclaimer: A n00b said that, ignore in case of better advice.

It may be just me but i'm not sure having ONLY 4 monsters can be good. ofc the phase drag is immortal, but still... forest scepters r easy targs and the graviton's can be also destroyed quite easy

@Bob: 2 Pulvs arent needed in most cases. Especially since this deck is packed with permanent removal. And in the rare cases where 2 Pulvs would be good I would need more Earth and Gravity Quanta than I can supply.
And more Creature Control makes this deck too clumsy. Its about permanent removal. In most cases nuking his Pillars and rewinding the dangerous creatures is more then enough.

Xdude: In my Opinion they do suffice. I wouldnt add more then 1 Creature.
So far they rarely got destroyed.

The most played creature removal:
- Fire Storm -> Fire Eater: You need 2. Most People only Play 2. Forrest Sprite: Only in Danger in the First Turn, where you can Pump it
- Eagle Eye -> Is no problem unless it has an enchant Artifact on it. And most decks Playing this, dont Play Eagle Eye.
- Otyugh -> Rarely a Problem. It should never eat your own Stuff. If he has one on the Table and you want to play a Sprite just bounce it. If it ate the Enemy Creatures: Just bounce it. Only Danger would be Heavy armor, which is rarely included in Decks. Even the Standart Rainbow only play 1 (if any)
- Firebolt: Most Firebolt users hesitate to use it on Creatures, since they are Playing it as Burn.
- Drain Life: See Firebolt
- Thunderbolt: Not played that much. But you need 2 for the Eater and as soon as the Sprite is Big enough its not really in danger Anymore

Firestorm and Eagle Eye both need quite high Quantacount. An Early Spirit will get fat quite fast, when they arent effective yet. Espacially if his Pillars are nuked.
