the new SoFo/purify combo has had great utility and won many games between the two of them. the SoSes were redundant with the mutations...and goodbye nearly-obsolete-butterfly-effect...
i've also replaced 2 QTs for 1
tower and 1 SNova a few times. this makes it rushier but weakens the diss field defense in a longer game. it was a change i'd resisted on the instinct that just rushing is boring but at least it still mutates which is *FUN*
a new threat has started to creep into PVP2 more and more...SoWisdom. i can't target their dangerous creatures with it, and they get around my diss field. rushing faster is the best answer to this, hence the quanta change, but i'm also considering...wait for it...with the slightly weakened diss field situation, and the fact i produce plenty of
usually through rustlers (tho i might need to splash maybe 2
pendulums)...replacing one of the 3 diss fields with a jade shield.
i'm not sure if it's gonna work out, might strain
, maybe i don't draw the 1 when i need it (tho again purify / SoFo win me games with just 1 each), but it sure would be nice to flip those mono aether SoWisdom decks on their ass, plus the odd other decks including rubber/glue that use it. i doubt the switch is worth it ... yet... but in a month or 3? perhaps. an intermediate modification may be to just drop down to 2 diss fields, as in the original. with 10 QTs, 3 shields was nice, but now that's probably too many.
also in general i just want to note that evolving your deck to keep up with the changing distribution of decks is a big part of what makes the game awesome imho, not a lot of games can pull of that dynamic balance as well as elements does. now if zanz could just do something about those desynchs...
