Well, since the server's been down today, I've been messing around in the trainer.  Here's a magic only deck.  No permanents, shields, weapons, or creatures.  Spells only!  It uses every element except for Gravity, which doesn't really have any useful spells.

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5rp 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rp 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 718 718 718 718 718 718 77j 77j 7ai 7ai 7do 7do 7gn 7gn 7n1 7n1 7t9 7t9 80b 80b 8pj

Basically, you're poisoning your opponent to death.  Sundial to protect you and draw cards; Twin Universe to copy any powerful creature he has and speed up the damage; Quicksand to slow him from playing more creatures; Heal and Steal are obvious; and everything else is creature control.

So what do you think?

That's a very neat idea. o-o Though, instead of running Congeals, I would personally run Ice Lances as a stort of late game Direct Damage spell.

EDIT: Which Mark do you use? Entropy, I would assume, but clarify for me, just to be sure.

Entropy Mark for the Novas.  I started off with a Death Mark to play my Poison ASAP, but then I couldn't play my Novas and other cards.

I did consider running Fire+Ice Bolts, Lightning, and Drain Life along with the poison, but you just can't build quanta up fast enough for it to be effective.

Congeal is really useful against creatures with 7+ HP (some dragons and FFQ).  But, you could throw in Ice Bolt and/or Drain Life for a late game rush since neither of those quantums are in heavy use.

I just tried this, built specifically as such, and I've found that it's extremely difficult to play. =/ I had a lot of trouble with just the AI3, lol. It's a novel idea, but I doubt it'll ever see great use in the metagame.

I hate to burst the proverbial bubble, but Sundial is a permanent... ;D

Well, you would think a permanent would be . . . well, permanent.  So I decided to count it as a spell.  ;D

Yeah, I've only done limited testing and was hoping to get some help maybe.  I think I need to change up the ratio of pillars and spells, plus get rid of a few less helpful one like Heal.  It's cool to have a bunch of spells from all the elements, but it seems to only work well when you get your novas in the beginning.

I tried something like this once. It didn't work. Not enough defense, not enough damage, etc.

Here's a better version.  I streamlined things and it now wins more consistently.  The main thing was cutting out cards and getting the right ratio of towers.  Based on percentages, your opening hand should have 2 towers, 1 sundial, 1 supernova, 1 poison, and 2 of the other spell cards.

Yeah, I don't think I have high hopes for this deck.  This would do much worse I imagine without all those upgrades.

Could probably use a Miracle in there as a last-gasp stalling tactic.

Throw in 1 or 2 blackholes.

I think I see a couple things that would help you, as well as some of the suggested things, so I'll just list them here:

Improved Miracle: You're using a decent amount of quantum towers as well as a full set of supernovas, so this card should easily fit in, cost wise at the very least. Could definitely help give you the couple of turns more you might need to get the poison damage to kill.

Jade Shield: I'm unsure if you want to keep this w/o permanents or if that's just the way the deck went, but I think this could be a helpful addition. I chose this over the Light reflective shields for two reasons: 1-The extra -1 damage per creature as well as the cost. It's life quanta which is completely untapped with your current design. Would help mitigate damage as well as deal with enemy poisons/fire lances/etc.

Black Hole: It uses the untapped gravity quanta you generate as well as healing you. If that wasn't good enough, getting them out early vs a multi-element deck, especially a rainbow deck, can easily win you the game by slowing them down. I think this is almost a necessity vs rainbow decks considering the massive amount of healing they usually pack, whether it be in the form of boneyard/ffq+bonds, shards, and or miracle.
