Do upped ice shields raise the chance of enemies being frozen when they attack or does it just further reduce the damage? If it raises the chances of freezing enemies that would make so many fights easier.

No, it just reduces the damage. However, even that makes a huge difference, for example against FGs like Serket with 2 ATK Scorpions, they're completely stopped by the Permafrost, preventing you from being poisoned; whereas the Ice Shield while reducing damage, still allows you to get poisoned.

Might wanna add that you can still get poisoned by Arsenics

Well I've been getting bored and very unlucky with Twinbuster's "Fire lance sudden kill" deck, so I'm gonna go back to using this one I think, but I'm gonna go ahead and use a fractal instead of mind gate, too many strategies for the upped version call for fractal-ed lava golems for me to not use it, and I'll probably put in a request for a SoG farm and might upgrade my ice shields.

Wow, it works much better with fractal. I was just in a match with destiny and getting beaten pretty badly because I didn't have any hourglasses to draw my cards, and no quints for my golem or ffq (also ffq wasn't much use because of the numerous maxwell demons) when he got a forest scorpion and even though my golem and ffq wouldn't be much use I had fractal and a lot of green quanta, and I fractaled his scorp and poisoned him to death and won by the skin of my teeth.

A different sort of bad luck in my case. Think I will take the chance to simultaneously rage rant and thank the creator of this amazing deck.

I have run this deck against FGs for a while now, something like 210 games or such. Out of those, about 40 of them have been wins with 30 or so EMs, which is an absolutely gorgeous winrate for a 95% unupped deck (happened to have two Electrums), so I would definitely like to thank the person that designed this, as I have been using it without modifications so far.

On the other hand, I have now won a grand total of 4 cards, all of them being from within my first 5 wins. Considering that I have heard that winning rares is about a 1/2.5 chance, this saddens me greatly. 35 wins without cards kills the fun, so I have temporarily reverted back to picking on AI5s for the easy money.

Ah well, thank you.

How fun it is to beat Decay through Mindgate Pest/Fractal alone makes this deck worth it.

Almost got the fully upped ccwb, all I'm missing are 5 shards of gratitude, and it'll be done (I'll also need to remove that one pillar to make it look just like the basic version of the ccwb.) I've gotten much better with using this (and the permafrosts help a lot too) and have even started to experiment with the possibilities of what gods can be beaten with it as it is. Speaking of pests it doesn't seem like they're draining my quanta when I have permafrost up, but when I fist started fiddling around with elements about a year ago on kong they took quanta even without damaging the opponent, so what's the deal with that, or am I just not paying enough attention?

This actually has nothing to do with Permafrost Shield, it's the effect of Sanctuary. Sanctuary protects your quanta pool and hand from being altered during your opponent's turn, rendering Discord, Pest, and Black Hole useless. Also, if you're lucky, you can trick Chaos Lord into stealing one, which disables his Dissipation Field (quanta pool cannot be altered, so quanta cannot be used to absorb damage) - quite funny when it happens.

I had some trouble with this deck until I altered it slightly and used more upgraded cards. If you know what the basic strategy to use against each false god it works out fine. Like against fire queen you want your frost shield out quick, and you should quint a golem and a ffq and use fireflies to draw out fire queens fire lances so she doesn't hit your health, then you try to keep your hand empty, gather a bunch of fire quanta, and fractal your second golem when you get it to beat out her emphatic bond healing if you didn't take those out with your pulvy. If your just getting a bunch of bad draws though I recommend you remove a few sanctuaries and ditch the enchant artifacts (I found that anytime you would need those EA's you would be better served drawing something else).

Tip 'o' the day :)

Always check if the god you're playing has pc/cc/big creatures.

That way you'll play your perma. at the right time, your lava-golem at the right time and your anti-matter on the right thing.
