In a 35 deck I dunno if you can squeeze in 2 Aflas, but if you think they're essential you can go to 37.
I've been running 36-37 cards on CCYB mods. Right now I'm testing this:
Code: [Select]
6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6rn 6rn 6rn 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u7 6u7 6u7 77f 77f 77i 77i 7ak 7dq 7dq 7gp 7gp 7k6 7k6 7k6 7n3 7q5 7q5 80h 80h 80iTrying to address early game vulnerabilities with 3 AMs and a Jade. The 3 Sancts are quite useful against Dark Matter and Decay. The 2 PAs are good vs Seism and essential vs Jezebel (if drawn early). I am definitely missing the 3rd Hourglass though and I want it back.

Fractal vs. Mindgate: can anyone tell me their pros vs cons in this deck?
fractal: instant ~50 damage
mindgate: if gotten early, ~70 damage throughout the game; if gotten late however, ~20 damage only

Fractal- Versatile, but pretty much useless if FFQ is taken out. Drains all quanta, and for maximum effect you have to clear your hand. Also can only be used once.

Mindgate- Can be used repeatedly, though against Miracles it's better to have fractal. Good against Scorpio, Seism, Obliterator as well as others.

The combo of this deck is 1 FFQ + 2 Lava Destroyers + 1 Fractal, and I don't think anything else would work better.
Ideal case:
- you draw FQ, and gain  :fire while the enemy is wasting spells on flies;
- you can cast and quint an early Destroyer for additional damage;
- Fractal bomb your 2nd Destroyer - this works even if those are your last 2 cards.
Of course, this is not aways the case. Sometimes FQ make things worse and you have to keep her in your hand.

On the Fractal/Mindgate topic, I can tell you the most important advantages of Fractal:
- allows you to single hit FGs with Miracle
- can be used for early damage if the enemy has little CC
- works even if it's your last card
- sometimes you can Fractal something else, e.g. Deathstalkers and Abyss Crawlers
- cannot be stolen/destroyed, less random factor then Mindgate

Next test - a "slim" CCYB, dropped the 2 PAs altogether for this one -
Code: [Select]
6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6rn 6rn 6rn 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u7 6u7 6u7 77f 77f 7dq 7dq 7gp 7gp 7k6 7k6 7n3 7q5 7q5 7q5 80h 80h 80iOnly thing the deck could use is 1-2 PAs. *scratches head and goes back to FG heaven*

lol @ fractal vs mindgate debate

we had this back in pages 1-20 and this is probably the 8th or 9th recurrence of that debate
the thing is, just do some testing yourself and stick with what you think is best

btw...

so not true^
fractal doesnt need FFQ to work
by the time you want to fractal, you should have enough quanta of any sort to fractal your target and remember, lava destroyer isnt the only viable target

Fractal is definitely the better choice. What Kobi said is all true, it doesn't need FFQ to work.

- Fractalling frogs vs Ferox, great damage for low cost.
- Fractalling Vampires vs Incarnate, decent damage, healing can save your life.
- Fractalling Pests vs Decay (can actually quanta starve him like this) works well with Eclipses and as siphon targets.
- Fractalling Chaos Lord or Destiny mutations.
- Lots of other examples.

Just wanted people to know that an unupped version of CCYB now works quite well with the release of sanctuaries:
Code: [Select]
4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4vn 4vn 58v 58v 592 592 5fa 5fa 5i9 5i9 5li 5lm 5lm 5lm 5lm 5lm 5lm 5oj 5rl 5rl 5rl 621 621 623
Feel free to swap out mindgate, EAs, afla, jade shield, reflective shield, etc.

I will probably start a new thread with this version, only because I feel it should probably be a resource made available to newer players and not buried on the 102nd page of the popular upped version.

I decided to add Diamond and Purify for those shots against Scorpio.  Also the Diamond works better against Fire Queen and Osiris than Permafrost overall: you have a more consistant chance to have 80+hp for that healing EM.  Probably could go for more Sanctuaries in place of SoG, but for one that extra 1hp adds up and its nice to know you can play one with out 3 :light, particularly near the beginning if you had a bad hand.  Mindgate would be option, for I honestly haven't used fractal all that much and its probably more effective with the lack of the FFQ to power a Destroyer ambush.
