I am having issues with the jade shield, I just don't see what it adds. If it is protection from being exploded it seems like a PA would be much better, because the freezing part of permafrost is essential for keeping me alive I feel. In the matches where I can't draw permafrost or it gets destroyed and i have to rely on a jade shield, I have found it is very often not enough to keep me alive anyway. That is when I realize how amazing the freezing property is.

In other words, a PAed permafrost > jade shield by far.
Jade adds 3 things.

1. A third shield, which only increases your likelyhood of drawing one.
2. Immortality. It allows you to live until you can get the PA'd perma (which is by far better).
3. Pretty much auto-win against decay+Octane.

Thanks to some self styled 'pro' I have just been notified that 'all the other pro's' use Air Nymphs instead of Aflatoxins nowadays. I'm doubting that, but any of you well paid Elemental Professionals agree with this?

Air Nymph isn't really comparable to Aflatoxin.

At all.

Air Nymph can be a decent Lava Destroyer alternative, though.

Mmm yeah its a good replacement with lava destroyers. The killing of malignant cells with your unstable gases isn't that much of a problem as you usually use all the gases in one shot for the final blow, hence the alfatoxin can still be left inside.

I use an  :air nymph in my deck instead of a FFQ, and I like it a lot better. I still have the toxin in there though.

I like the idea of a mindgate, I think Ill go get one.

Air Nymph is probably better, yeah, especially if you go for three quints (like I do :/). 20 damage per use is definately better than 4 damage, plus is unblockable by conventional shields. Now I want an Air Nymph. D:

Heres the variant I'm testing right now, its quite similar to raving's.  I just love mindgates though, they wreck fgs.

Code: [Select]
6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6rn 6rn 6rn 6rn 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u7 6u7 71c 77f 77f 7ai 7ak 7dq 7dq 7dq 7gp 7gp 7q5 7q5 808 80h 80h 80j 80j
Before you start criticizing that Aether tower and 2 mindgates, just try the deck.  The Aether tower allows you to actually use your mindgates effectively, and if drawn without any mindgates it still helps with getting quint out.  The auto-mulligen (spelling?) allows you to draw it early pretty often to start building up aether quanta for when you draw one or both of your mindgates.  Try it out, if you have 2 mindgates working nonstop, you will wreck the FG.  Other than that its pretty self-explanatory.

I've been hearing some talk about air nymph > lava destroyer, I do have an air nymph, so I guess I'll make that substitution and test it out.  I'll probably need another quint though and 36 is too big already (for my taste).

Any tips/comments are welcome, please just try it out before you go too heavy with the criticism though  :D

I tried mindgate but I found that with just one and only QTs and snovas powering it, it just wasnt really very effective. Adding an aether tower or 2 though like you did may make it worth it. I like mindgate, but in my limited testing just adding it to my old variant, it wasnt too great.
