seems a lot of people didnt get their job done in time... honestly, plz no extratime again... thought majo made a timeline, but we cant get that if each round is extended again...

sorry, but i see no point in an event where people make it happen to fight their battles in short time, and then other get extra time cause they dont get it... lets play and not stall... i hate this!

The problem isn't people playing not playing their games, it's that they're not posting in the buy/sell thread. I have 5/12 right now.

well, then they will get no cards?! you have not that much work and their coins stay till next round... deadlines like yours are for players to know at this time i have to submit my dutys... if not, what a pity... next round!
letting them go further it makes every round the same, noone will take taht deadline and make what he/she want... sry, but in this case ME is not willing3 to take part in events!

After some consideration, I've decided to end this event after 8 rounds. With Shrink disappearing, some of the googledocs he was still working never got finished. And with the lack of players filling out their buy/sell list... and just forfeiting their matches instead of playing them.

I have yet to decide if I'll be handing out an icon, but please PM me a list of your cards + total electrum amount (after selling those cards) that you had at the end of Round 8.

And leave all feedback in the Rules thread.

Would it be simpler for us to just "sell" ALL of our cards, then PM you the electrum total? Or would you prefer our current card lists + Current electrum?

Should we report this final sale and total electrum here, in the Buy/Sell thread or just send to you in PM ?

Will you be posting everyone's final card list? Would it be okay if we posted our card list and strategy somewhere? I'm curious to see how other people did and what their strategy was for this event.

In the beginning, it made the most sense to me to buy Pillar and Bronze packs because:
  • They actually netted you a profit from buying and selling them (especially Pillar packs since they occasionally gave Quantum Pillars which were rare cards).
  • They were the fastest way to build up a large card pool.
  • They were the best way to get the most Foil cards.
  • They were the most cost-efficient way to get uncommon cards.
  • There wasn't a deck made up of rare or super-rare cards that a deck made up of only uncommons and commons couldn't beat (that I could see anyway). But even if there was, with Silver and Gold packs containing so few of these rare and super-rare cards, it would've taken a long time to buy enough packs to get the copies you needed to make a deck centered on a rare/super-rare card.

So in the beginning, I only bought pillar and bronze packs and kept anything that was remotely decent in order to build up a big enough card pool to field more than 1 deck. Big hitters and defensive cards (shields, CC) were especially important early on since everyone was weak on output.

Towards the middle of the event as my card pool began to fill out, I began to be more aggressive in selling mediocre cards and keeping only good cards. I decided that certain elements didn't have anything in the uncommon card pool that other elements couldn't provide or do better. So I sold all the cards from those elements except for a few utility cards and foil cards to use in Rainbow decks.

As the end of the event got close, I debated whether to keep buying Bronze and Silver packs or to hold on to the money since buying those packs gave a slight net loss. I felt pretty good about my decks but there were a few players that I was worried about being able to beat. And although I was undefeated and so was ahead in money, I thought there was a good chance for me to lose against one of the better equipped players still and thus lose my advantage. I figured losing a little bit of money to get better cards was better than losing a match. So I kept buying packs.

And that was my strategy. That plus some luck helped me get to the end without losing any matches against players or NPCs. Thanks again majofa, Shrink, justaburd, and the other NPCs for helping run this event. It was fun (minus the card organizing part).

Is anybody else going to be posting their cards/decks or strategy?

All psions unupgraded.

I made a bad decision by choosing Death and I knew it even at the time. I let my love of the element overrule my rational thinking. Even worse, I kept around my death cards for a while instead of selling them and turning them into pillar packs.
Another bad decision I made was buying silver packs in one of the early rounds instead of getting more pillar/bronze ones.
Another mistake was doing pillar/pendulum split instead of just going with pillars. Pendulums sold for more and I didn't even realize that until it was too late.

My strategy was to maximize my cards sold to keep as many packs as I possibly could. I kept around only a few decks and even those few were probably too many.
I didn't care as much about winning as about turning my not-so-important cards back into packs. I figured I didn't need great deck variety to win most of my games, just a few good decks.
