My strategy was to ban luck draws as much as I could, which led to my first two ban choices of discord and earthquake.  After that I just banned stuff I hate facing, and doubled up on fire and air to try and get rid of unstable gas and fire bolt as well, since I don't like when direct damage is a big part of the meta.  I've never faced spielkind or kev that I can recall, but I've faced calindu in league before and jen-i once or twice in tourneys, so I had a rough idea of the sort of stuff they might try, and I also tried to pick things I thought they might like to use :p
