  • Players distribute all 12 elements into 6 ordered pairs for use in game 2 to 7. They also pick a pair for the opponent to use in game 1
  • Odd games: Decks must contain at least 40% of the two elements selected for that game
  • Even games: Decks must contain at least 60% of the two elements selected for that game
  • Upgrades per game: 9, 4, 8, 16, 13, 10, 7
  • After a non-PPM card has been used in by a player, that card may not be used by that player for the rest of the match. Bans are not sensitive to upgrades: if a deck plays Devourer, Pest is banned too. Players should share their decks after each game

So I can just play 12 cards of one of the two elements plus any other 18 cards in odd games?

Yes, assuming a 30 card deck. The 12 may be any proportion of the two elements

Spoiler for Game #1 = WIN:

I won the toss and had a reasonable draw ... his Gravity mark had me a little worried I might see SoFo or Momentum, but with an early lobo I and two dims in my opening hand I was set for an easy victory

Spoiler for Game #2 = LOSS:

The deck was slgihtly overquanta'd to deal with Discord and between Pulvy and EQ I figured to have some quanta denial of my own I had the better quanta start and while I lacked EQ to open things up his 1st Discord left me with enough Gravity that my Pulvy could smash it, unfortunately for me he continued to draw into more Discords, 3 in the first 14 cards and I couldn't stabalize.

Spoiler for Game #3 = LOSS:

Only 2 pends drawn for me in the opening hand ... in fact only 2 pends drawn in the first 14 cards ... that meant JCJ top decked a Bone Wall a turn before I could play Discord, which meant the horde of SoFo I had were each met by a bolt upon being played ... horrid quanta start for me matched by one perfect topdeck and an opening hand of CC turned this match into a rout

Spoiler for Game #4 = WIN:

I won the toss and with 4 opening ppm and 3 Angels in hand I was quickly ahead in the damage race ... I top decked Solar Shield and got it in play the turn before his Fractal ... it was the icing on the cake and powered me to a 6 turn win.

Spoiler for Game #5 = WIN:

Certainly not an easy match up against SoFr Rush, but while JCJ played some early damage, each piece of damage was met by CC from me, until the turn before my Fractal he dropped a dragon and looked to be off to the races, I double bolted the dragon, fractalled the devs and dropped Duck to protect me the rest of the way ... drew into a 2nd Fractal and a Garg not long after for an unexpected win.

Phenomenal draw by me ... was proably an easy 6 turn win, perhaps as quick as 5 turns ... dropped Damsels and quanta on turn one, would be able to drop a Nymph on both turns 3 and 4 for a flood of damage, but was solidly counterdecked here ... Between Oty and SoFo neither my creatures not the gasses were going to accomplish much ... I think I would have dropped him just under 40HP before he cleared my board for good. Well chosen deck JCJ, I had a list of 4 I expected and Swallow was certainly not among them.

This one hurts ... we both took a little time to plan our last game, but I was playing at my office and needed to take a meeting, JCJ graciously allowed me the time to finish up. I was certain that he was expected an SoP Wardens deck ... and I was sure that some version of a Grabbow would be played to counter it ... I had made pre-match notes that told me if he had used SoP before the final match I needed to play a deck with RT, but I had already wasted an hour of his time and didn't have anything built yet ... my notes recommended I play a Ghostmare, but when I looked through my deck list I didn't have one built around darkness quanta to make it legal to play.

So instead of wasting even more of JCJ's time I went with SoP Wardens and hoped that in the extra hour I had given him to plan that he hadn't found a solution. I said immediately before the match ... I think I'm making a mistake ... and I was.

Great deck choice JCJ ... and congrats on the win!

JCJ: Expects SoPa Wardens, decides to counter with SoPa Wardens because it beats everything. Realizes he already used SoPa and can't play SoPa Wardens.

Also JCJ: Plays SoPa Wardens anyway.

Only you could pull this off.

It was a super gutsy call and paid off well!

Ghostmare would have hurt, although i wonder whether gnome and grabby damage with wardens keeping the few creatures frozen may have made it close, particularly with me stealing quanta / vagger? If not i would have been super sad because i really wanted to play Devquake or Quake/rewind this game but felt i couldn't because you still had nova - I really expected you to see i had quake left and go for a patient nova bow, possibly with vampires as you hadn't used them in your devtal.

It worked out, but I think I was a tad fortunate with my hail mary!

Sacrificed speed to get an early SoFo and establish control. Was lucky enough not to have TorB draw into more than 2 Titans and win comfortably. This was also the only deck where I spent a decent amount of time on building.

Only brought 2 Miracles?!?; got rather unlucky - with shield and SoFree in particular. A timely NT or SoD before Miracles could have changed this on their own but neither were in the top 30 cards. Also a great choice by TorB!

Tough matchup. Had to SoBr twice and get lucky to draw my only Deflag for his shield but he topdecked another and after he had a lance for my golem and a conservatively cast Miracle it lost handily.

Not really sure what went wrong here. Had on OK draw, played my first Mummy too aggressively, faced a superb draw by TorB and never found my way into the game. I guess I was bummed out a bit after that one.

TheonlyrealBeef 4 - 1 moehrpi
ggs! I feel like I got quite lucky in the games I won.

Spoiler for decks:

More animates than Titans. Losing toss and not being able to catapult because of SoFo barely caused me to lose, but moehrpis deck had a clear advantage regardless.

No Dims and moehrpis first creature came rather late, making this an easy win.

LOST vs discake: One pend start... vs discake. Bonewall is still a great counter to discord and I was only a single stack of bones away from winning that game. 1-1

LOST vs entrostall: Just one early SoFo and I would have cheesed this game. It didn't come until it was way too late - also worth mentioning his pandemonium effects were extremely precise, like RTing my fattest creatures and loboing my SoFo. 1-2
