4-3
So tense.

Game 1
I faced a hard counter

Game 2
another hard counter.

Game 3
I managed to win.

Game 4
Kind of mirror game, bad draw for deuce meant win.

Game 5
My turn to hard counter.

Game 6
We where running out of choices. All in all the matchup was 70-30% to deuce and he won.

Game 7
So the smart with my deck choice the game before is that I had the upper hand in this duel. 65-35% to me this time. But deuce pulled a 7ttw out of nowhere and I made a misplay which would have won me the game( i won coin toss so should not 100% unfair, still bothers me ).

This si the third time you kick me out of an event in a win or die game. As always it was tense and close, really well played and go for it!.

theelkspeaks 4 - 3 Jen-i

A truly unbelievable match.  Video of the match to be uploaded and added later.

RNG gave and RNG took away, for both of us, though game 7 was unusually cruel to Jen.  I'm still kind of in shock that I won that match.

vs Life / Earth Stall Deck

He played an early Frog and I countered with an OE, he then BB'd his Frog and I proceeded to shoot it each round. He needed an early Adrenaline for that BB'd frog, and even then who knows how my fog would have messed with his damage. In the end we desynched but I had too much damage on the table and he had no means of removal, we played it out and he conceeded.

vs Mono Earth Grabby BB Control

He BB'd most of my damage, but between Arsenic and the lone creature I had left at the end of each turn I managed to get ahead in the damage race. I drew both my Bone Walls early enough that they made all the difference in stalling long enough for the win, as his grabby damage got fast and heavy towards the end.

vs Adrenastaves

Badly counterdecked = Loss. I looked back before the match and saw how many times I'd run this deck in this position and briefly thought about changing it. But I was too lazy to bother, and wow do I regret that now. Fire Stall would have looked sooooo much better in this position.

vs Fire Stall

This deck needs lots of early quanta to be successful. But I only drew 4 quanta in roughly the first half the deck while I needed 6-7. My dragons came out far too slowly and only 1 at a time so he could bolt them to death easily. And a total lack of drawing my Mito's slowed the deck even further. I conceded after he bolted my 4th dragon as there was no chance of me coming back from that.

vs Diving Peggies

Well I had this game completely in hand, with lots of CC and healing in hand. But I wanted to save my second bolt, so in an epic series of math failure I failed to bolt his monster Pegasus to death, while I had the bolt and pot in hand to do so, because I calcualted that if he played a peggy on the next turn and dove the monster I'd still be at 2 HP. And I also thought it would take both bolts to kill the monster pegasus, and wanted to save the second bolt. Unfortunately I'm an idiot and lost what should have been an easy win.

Spoiler for Game #6 = Win:

vs Death / Fire Control

I had SoG, Jade Shield and a deflag either in my opening hand or drawn very quickly. I was pretty sure this match was in hand, as his only means to victory would have been playing two early Arsenics. RNG made things even worse for him as he didn't draw an Arsenic until something like 8 cards left in the deck.

Spoiler for Game #7=Loss:

I messed around for a long while trying to come up with a counter to both Death Rush and an SoSac stall deck. I completely forgot about Holy Light and tinkered around with a bunch of other options. www3 and elkie both asked me why I didn't run Immortal. My experience in a bunch of testing tells me that Immortal loses to many rush decks, and death rush has enough speed to cause it serious problems. However, looking back on it now, I should have run Immortal and included HL and CC, the one thing that Immortal seriously lacks.

As for the game, he drew his damage far faster than I drew mine. I drew 6 of my 10 quanta in the first 10 cards and 2 of my 10 damage. HL enabled me to extend the game slightly but not enough to get a win due to how slow my damage was.

Mirror match #1 - his reflective shield came early (and he only had 2 of them!) and mine didn't. 0-1

Game 2: entropy - earth (disc-quake)

Mirror match #2; he got a better draw and set me back with an early EQ; 0-2

Game 3: mono - dark

Good match up for me (vs. immortal); 1-2

Game 4: vader sader (dark-light-air)

I guessed he would bring darkness (hence the holy lights in there), but it just wasn't a good counter; 1-3

Game 5: mono - Fire

Mirror match #3 - I rushed a little faster this time (he didn't get any cremations until too late); 2-3

Game 6: mono-entropy

I decided to do a last minute sub on the deck I had planned and it worked; both of us had a poor draw, but I was able to win; 3-3

Game 7: last minute substitute - UG deck - lost  poor deck idea?

again I had a good mind gate, but a poor counter; not sure whether a UG deck would work well vs. an air rush (I don't have much experience using UG decks, and this was a hastily put together deck), but my poor draw sealed the deal in any case.  3-4

lost 2 of the 3 mirror matches, and didn't build good counters when I guessed what was coming... all that said www3 had nice RNG and played really well; it was a fun match overall.  Thanks and good luck to all in the semi-finals.
