I don't like the idea of mixing up points. My suggestion was only for leagues. I still think you need three tourney wins. Or WIN a pvp event. So one tourney win and a second place in a league isn't enough. Same for the WC points Afdarenty has suggested.

I agree with Vangelios. IMO more requirements are needed to join the qualifiers tourney.

The idea was to make it more difficult to get an "invitation" for this event to increase the competition in the next league season.

If we start to count points for all events, leagues and tourneys, then nearly everybody can join.

The system I mentioned would allow one player not currently qualified in this season, if I didn't miscount., and that would be mrpaper.  It would also eliminate several players: myself, MegroN, Submachine, rem4life, worldwideweb3, and pwconfirm.

As a result, my system is actually more difficult, not less, to qualify under.

Update: mrpaper is currently in due to winning Avatar.  MegroN would still be in due to Master of Earth.

System still lowers qualified number of players by 5, not increases it.

I don't care particularly either way, but it is true that theelkspeaks' system makes it easier to qualify compared to Odii's proposed system, which is where the comparison was made.

The qualify WC 1,# 2#, 3# are because not all qualified players go to participating
then remaining vacancies to fill 32 players

I agree with that, if it were really necessary, I can not agree to see a completing player with priority over a top 3 league player.

Also, let's remember that (unless 2/2014 counts toward next WC as well due to dates overlapping the two seasons), next season will only have two leagues seasons instead of 3.

I'm ok with rules making it harder to qualify, but I maintain that Odii's system is too harsh.

I think 3/2/1 for leagues, 1 for tourneys, 3 for Events/Masterships (i.e. mine without a distinction on number of players in event, but also no reward for second in Events), would be a midway point between Odii's and mine that makes sense if people think mine is too easy.

After all, the three tournaments rule is already a de-facto point system, but only dragonsdemesne had 3 tournament wins this year - INCLUDING masters, CL Champions, and other highly accomplished players.  Combining that with Odii's reduced value of 2nd and 3rd in leagues seems like a way to increase the difficulty for players currently "coasting in on a 2nd/3rd in leagues" while still not putting the task out of reach.

then what can happens? qualify 1 ,2 ,3,  4, 5 or more to have 32 players, then will be easy anyway

removing qualifiers seems harsh to I got into last world having no real pvp success and performed ok considering I messed up second round I don't like the idea of needed extra stuff to get onto a qualifier. A point system of sorts seems reasonable for insta qualification but going through a qualifier round or two isn't as easy as you seem to think. Strong pvpers who haven't auto-qualified are still in qualifiers there honestly aren't enough pvp events available to auto qualify. yes there are weekl tournies but even then the average tourney participant only participates in half of the tournaments a month when they are participating.

I actually like this - gives them a little boost, but they still can't go 0-4 in qualifying and expect to make it in.

Well are usually more of only 1 chance to qualify, are at least 3 qualifications.
begins with 1 or 2 points of advantage really have a good chance. after all top 3 are good players.
Also for those who won one or two tournaments can have 1 or 2 extra points to qualify.

The point of PVP WC is that you have to earn your way in.  Just qualifying for the event should be a goal for newer players, and winning it a goal for the best of the best.  It's supposed to be the most intense competition EtG has to offer, and setting qualification standards raises the bar for it.  Having last-chance qualifier events, as was done last year, still keeps within that idea - that getting to play in WC is an honor.
