World Championship - FINALS



RULES
Choose 6 elements and rank them in order of most preferred and send them in to majofa.
(*NOTE: The finals will have a randomly chosen element, which is: TBD)
The only elements allowed are the 7 (6 for Bronze) elements listed by your match up. (The top 3 listed from each player.)
You cannot use the same element more than twice in a match.
You cannot use the same combination of elements more than once in a match. (monos included)
If you use an element there must be at least 4 non-Pillar/Pendulum/Marks cards included in the deck.
Other elements' Pillars, Pendulums, Mark Cards, and Marks may be used. (Using a 'quanta card' doesn't count as using the element.)
You may use up to 4x upgraded cards, where 'x' is the game of the match you are on. (game 1 = 4 ups, game 2 = 8 ups....)
For each copy of a Shard you use, you must reduce the amount of upgraded cards in your deck by 3.
Limit 1 of each Mark card per game.
Limit 2 of each Nymph card per game.
You must declare your used elements after each game.
Best-of-7 for the Bronze Match // Best-of-9 for the Finals.

So I expected firestall from him to start (though without dials), and this deck pulled about 50-50 vs firestall. It needs disco to do that well tho. Prolly would've been better to just pour all resources into a counter, but I've forgotten WC metagame by now. My monofire would've held better, might've not been enough anyways with his good start.

Welp this was a counter. His draw was horrid in this game though, I managed a pretty reasonable win on my side. But I thought he had a more standard decklist with more sancs and miracles, so I conceded. Might've won in a rematch, who knows?

This one was a clear indication of my slipping. I expected Mono Entropy, which prolly had the advantage with upps, but I was stubborn that there was no better deck. Using immo here would've prolly been an easy victory.

However, his multiple stalls had used up most of his resources. This deck was a reliable counter to anything he had.

This is actually more 50-50 than it seems, but he drew the critical 3 silences.

ggs ww3! I tested well enough for this, but I'm afraid I was just too stubborn at some points. I'd mindgated him pretty accurately games 1,3 and 5; perhaps it would've been a better move to use no flaming in 1 sacrificing element for win, and prolly should've gone with my gut on game 5. But the worst disaster was game 3, where a clearly better option was there but I refused it. Shows that there's a long way to go even with what I'm good at.

So, in looking at theelkspeaks' game 6 deck, I noticed it had too many upgrades. However, before giving deuce22 the win, I needed to check his decks. Some how, his game 6 deck was also illegal.

Per rules, using an illegal deck is a game loss and counts as no elements used by either player. So this match is now tied 4-4 with one game to play.
