Expected some sort of Aggro deck from Cal - so ran a fat stall and countered his deck beautifully.

I decided not to fear Dims this round - Cal would save aether as a failsafe for later. I swapped in Angels for a faster win condition and was met with a mono light Hope deck. Hope had the potential to cause me problems due to my lower attack. However my hand was solid and my damage came out fast enough that he didn't have time to build hope large enough to shut me down.

The original plan here had been to run Deja-Hope, but I chickened out at the last second thinking that 3 stalls in a row was too predictable. Which is too bad, it would have been a very easy win. Instead I had to try and rush Immortal with a pseudo-control deck. I think I had a chance, however I only drew 1 quanta in my opening hand, only 3 quanta in the first 15 cards, so while I had the creatures to play I was no where near fast enough to get the win. I badly needed early pressure or a set of epic top deck fails by Cheesy to win this.

Looking at his remaining elements I was virtually certain he was running ghostal here. I made a poor deck choice - mistakenly thinking that Hope shuts down his offense entirely. Forgetting of course how badly Eternity destroys my deck. He dropped an early Eternity and kicked my face in. I should have of course run Psiontal here, which would have beaten Ghostal easily and given me a mirror match against his remaining mono-Aether deck.

Well there's no way he's going to rush me - he's going to play some sort of control or stall deck and we'll dance around trying to find answers to each others cards. I'm going to skip that whole game and Mindgate him!!!!! Well that didn't happen, he came out of the gate hard with quanta and creatures flew rapidly out of his hand and I was dead very very quickly. Three poor deck choices in a row turn this match around completely.
