PvP World Championship 2013 - 2nd Round - Group B

GGs.  Rather annoyed at how RNG played out there; beef got some sick draws every game, and I got a couple of stupid ones, but that's how it goes sometimes :p

1) LOSS.  Had no chance at all in this matchup.
2) WIN.  He did a lot better than he normally would have in this matchup, and I only won by one turn because I didn't have much healing.  I'd probably have won by a lot more otherwise.
3) LOSS.  He got all the cards he needed, while I missed my nymphs and didn't get a mitosis until very late.  He won by 1 turn due to cointoss.
4) LOSS.  Pretty close to a mirror match.  I was low on quanta, though, and he had everything he needed except the creature.  I had one, though, which he could fractal... :p

The outcome to games 3 and 4 was rather surprising, but sometimes it just doesn't work out   Still lots of matches to go, though, but this group is going to be close.  Probably RNG will decide it all.

The RNG... I seriously want to punch something :p

1) LOSS.  I drew 0/6 firebolts in a 30 card deck all game; had I gotten even one at any point except the final turn, this would have been an easy win.
2) WIN.  I had a perfect counterdeck, but my draw was so bad I was 1 turn from a loss several times.  Bolts and sancs were nowhere to be found in the top half of the deck.  Luckily, my shield was in my opening hand, but only 2 quanta. (ALL the shields, actually :p)
3) LOSS.  This would've been a hard one to win.  I designed it rather badly, and was predicting a completely different deck.
4) LOSS.  2 quanta draw, again, in a half quanta deck, again.  Expected a completely different deck, again.  If I had gone with the obvious choice (which I didn't pick because it was obvious and easily counterable) I'd have won, because it wouldn't have been countered :p

Jen-i's definitely a good opponent, and very scary, but frankly, I'm more scared of the RNG, now :p  GGs!

Whew.  Came down to the wire after I sprinted to a 2-0 lead in the match.

Game 1 - WIN: Got my offense going early enough to win by half-a-turn.

Game 2 - WIN:  My offense pretty well countered tree's defense idea.  Ended up a comfortable win.

Game 3 - LOSS:  I made a crucial play mistake.  Having crippled part of tree's offense, I got greedy and overextended early use of CC only to have a big giant offensive weapon land in my face next turn.  I lose by 11-ish HP.  Sneaky deck inclusion, tree.

Game 4 - LOSS:  I suspect a certain deck type from tree.  Modify what tree properly suspected I would bring to the match just for what I suspected.  He brings my mindgate PLUS a bit of a wrinkle and draws OK and I lose by about 11 HP again.

*will I go from 2-0 to 2-3?  dun Dun DUUUNNN!*

Game 5 - WIN:  Just too much speed from my deck and having a super duper slick draw.  6 TTW with a bit of overkill left over.


Good games tree and thanks for the fun chat and experience.  Let's see how that 4th place in this group shakes out!

Man, did I ever need a win in this one.  I think I'm still alive... but we'll see.  GGs mrpaper.  And again, I'm really sorry about that game 1.  I have -never- seen a game that ridiculous before.

1) WIN.  I get a 1 pillar draw with 15/30, and I think I'm completely screwed, and tell him such on the first turn.  After his turn 2, it gets even worse.  Because of the matchup and the fact that I won cointoss with two 30 card decks facing each other, I immediately go for a deckout strategy and discard what would ordinarily be my win condition to keep what I need in hand to do that.  I'll describe it more after the round is over... this was a game I'll never forget.  Given how it played out, though, I think my deck would win most of the time.

2) LOSS.  We both had probably average hands, but his deck was better suited to face mine.  I'd have lost this one more than half the time for sure.  Probably a lot more, like 2/3-3/4.

3) WIN.  Looking at what elements he's already used, I pick a decent general purpose deck that will also hardcounter the deck I think he's going to bring.  He brings that deck, and he didn't have much of a chance.

4) WIN.  I think I had the advantage in this one, but mrpaper also had bad luck, getting only 1 copy of the only card that gave him a chance against me, so he couldn't do much.  I would also like to give Jen-i a big thumbs up for the idea behind this one; he used basically the same deck against me in our 4th game.  One card that could have saved him at almost any time, I was worried he might draw, but it turns out he didn't have it in the deck, fortunately for me.

Well, a lightning burned my moden in friday , (for those who do not know Brazil is the country that has more lightning discharge in the world, then Michael J Fox, can running with the Deloream here and not will be problems if needs a lightning) I will try to resolve it early next week, more 3 days would be good for me but if you guys can not wait I'll understand.
