Elements PvP Tournament - Your ideas!

Not necessarily one of the better ideas I've had, but a proper lack of sleep will do that.

I was thinking of ice cream. Don't ask why. I thought of a double chocolate. Went from there to anti-'nilla.

So, conceptually, a tournament where decks must be duos and cannot contain any vanilla creatures.

Both players send the TO (or a neutral 3rd party) a 15-30 card deck consisting of a max of 3 non pillar cards. The 3rd party then puts the decks together and both players must play each other using the combined deck. Any mark is allowed.

Building Blocks (unupgraded):

Each player can use only one deck at the start of the tournament.  They can also use every deck they defeat (after the match is over, not after game one in a Bo3) EXACTLY as build by their opponent.  After every match, the losing player posts the decks that he/she used that round. This way, the original deck of the winner of each match is unknown.  All players PM the TO with the code for their original deck before the start of the tourney.  This is to prevent rulebreaking/illegal deck usage.

FAQs:

• What about satellite matches?

Satellite matches - or matches to make it into the main bracket of 32/16 players - are played normally, except the winner does not get to use the deck that the loser posts.

• What happens in the case of a forfeited match?

In the case of a forfeited match, the loser/person who forfeits posts his/her ORIGINAL deck code.  The "winner" can now use that deck.

• What are the bans?

All shards.  Any other bans are up to the TO, but I think that bans should be minimal, in order to give a wide range of deck types.[/list]

Each player suggests 1 non-rare card to the TO
The TO divides the pool into  roughly equal size sets (say 10 to 15)
The players must then build decks that contain at least 1 card from each of those sets.
For spice,
The only outside cards allowed would be the weapon of whatever element is used as mark.
(and maybe bacon... because bacon makes everything taste better... if only it was a card real card)

The non-pillar cards in a deck must follow the following composition:
1 copy of one card
2 copies of another card
3 copies of a third card
4 copies of a 4th card
5 copies of a 5th card
6 copies of a sixth card.
(E.g. all decks will have 1+2+3+4+5+6 = 21 non-pillar / pendulum cards)

May also want to add in a restriction on fixed number of pendulums / pillars so all decks will be same size
(maybe 14 or 15 -> fairly standard arena size, 9 is probably to lean on pillars for most decks)

All cards that can make multiple copies of a card are banned (should help keep people from being tempted to cheat)
Banned cards would be (may not be complete list):

-Mitosis
-Parallel Universe
-Boneyard
-Nymphs tears (since you could make a nymph queen and spam nymphs)
-Nymph Queen (spams nymphs)
-Blue Nymph (spams UG)
-Pharaoh
-Firefly Queen
-deja-vu
-Might also need to ban Fallen Elf, fate egg, mutation, chaos seed, and pandemonium if they make it hard to see cheaters

But then it would come down to pretty much whoever has the best draw or wins the coin flip, right?

A tournament where you're only allowed to spend quanta you got on your last turn. Devourers and bolts might be powerful, expensive cards would be much harder to play.

Do you mean last turn like the final turn of your deck? Or last turn like the most recent turn?

That's a pretty good idea, but I feel like everyone would be using a variation of the same deck that is like a rainbow deck with sky blitz, so you just play 5 dragons and a sky blitz and one turn win.

depends on the shield that you will be using, but also depends on the organizer, it can prohibit some cards.

Last turn as in the most recent turn, so if you have six elemental pillars and no other quanta producers you can only use the six quanta from those pillars. EDIT: and the quanta your mark produces. Derp.

The point is that whatever you produce, minus what gets drained by the opponent (devourer, BH) is what you get to use the next turn.
