Dead Mark!
Mark must be from an element which in NO way are used in the deck. Nova, Immo and Quantum Pillars are banned.

Try adding more options: max 10 upgraded, only 7 rare cards, double drawing, more/less HP, maybe electrum for each battle won, this would add some variety

players do a coin flip or roll to see who selects the element type and upped or unupped other player must use the opposite element. Both players will be given 10-15 mins to create new deck b4 playing against one another. If the winner of the coin flip or roll (or how ever u can randomly select a winner) chooses to use upped cards then the entire deck does not need to be upped for either player it just means upped cards can be used. Unupped how ever will mean that no upped cards can be used.

In the event that the one who chooses the element wants to use  then both players must use a rainbow deck with opposite marks.

This would be limited to mono and rainbow decks because using more then one element would start to make things complicated. Players who sign up for this would be advised to have multiple decks that they could make (deck codes) in a timely manner on hand.

prerequisite for the tournament: all pillars must be QTs or QPs and you must have 6 nymph's tear (upped or normal)
all other creature you may have are photons/RoLs, Fate egg (upped or not) and fallen elf/fallen druids.
you may also add any and/or all nymph you possess into the deck.
no more than 5 extra spells are allowed.

the point is to have everyone have just about the same deck and let pure skill and luck determine who gets to win the match. the pivotal point are the spells and the fallen elf/ fallen druid for they become key to what you get and how silly the game goes!.

I've been thinking that it would be nice to have more tiers of tournaments.  Right now, we generally have mostly unupped tournaments, with the occasional upped tournament.  What if we had something like this:

-beginner's tournament: No upgrades or rares allowed.  Possibly a maximum score allowed to compete as well, so that new players can play competitive pvp even without owning all of the unupped cards/rares.
-novice tournament: No upgrades allowed, but rares are permitted.  Basically what we have now most weeks.
-advanced tournament: All rares allowed, some upgrades allowed.  Perhaps allow upgrades but only in one element of the player's choice, or only ups matching your mark, or only half your deck upped (though that last is impossible to enforce)
-expert tournament: You can use any cards you want.

For shards, they should be allowed in the expert one.  For the others, it would probably depend on TO preferences and the rules specific to that week's tournament.

heres another idea. VS  players pick what element  or  within 24hrs  b4 the match. to allow more players to be able to participate there will be an upped and an unupped bracket. and maybe even the winner form the upped can face the winner of the unupped just for kicks and giggles.

I don't know to what extent that would be viable, but let's explain it:
Your deck needs at least 3 copies of 3 different copies of pillars, for example (3 3 3: life)
Mark should be Aether and you may have up to 6 pillars, but the only card allowed will be Mindgate
You can have as many non-pillar cards in your deck as you want, but none of those can be from the same element as the pillars you have.
All non-pillar free cards are banned, quantum pillar and pendulums are banned.
Max decksize should be 30.

The point is that you mindgate your opponent to be able to play your cards.
I'm aware that this may cause a pretty slow tourney, and I know that some people say mindgate causes desynch(altho I never had a problem with it myself).
But sounds like fun

You'll be required to have a min of 5 pillars of 3 different elements(which you won't use in your deck).
All non-pillar free cards are banned

The point is that you mindgate your opponent to be able to play your cards.

Although I love this idea, this would be painfully slow.  You come up with pretty good ideas, I should hire you as my tourney maker .

* Decks must be a duo between opposite elements.

* No pillars are allowed.

* What's the worst card?: Before each match, you must send your opponent 10 cards from no more than 2 different elements - whatever you want. Those cards must be used in their deck.

* Rush rush rush: No permanents or CC cards are allowed. Every element must have at least 1 card in the deck, and there may be no dead cards.
