Elements PvP Tournament - Your ideas!

When I was playing MtG I used to play a little tournament with some friends. We bought some card packs and we oppened one of them. One ramdom player chooses one card and the next (clockwise direction) chooses another and next till there are no cards left. We repeat that with all the packs (in the next pack the starting player to choose is the second that choosed before) till there are no packs left. And you build your deck with all the cards you picked.

Here I think it would be more difficult to do but it would be so funny to play it.

@Drobbit: I believe it's called booster draft. I agree, if we could figure out a way to do it quickly and efficiently it would be awesome. Though I'm not seeing that as being easy to find illegal decks.

It would require a third party supervision and the tournament brackets being decided at least a day in advance.

"you win" deck competition. its like the event thing we did a while ago, but its much different: this time you face eachother, and not the ai!

Edit: My own idea.

Low tier tourney. Basically we go through each element and ban the used cards (say 2 of them or something), and the tournament uses whatever is left.

Maybe if the Tournament Organizer chooses the packs and shows the list in the chat of each opened pack, the players could pick the cards like a booster draft. It needs more controll and maybe less players per tournament, but it certantly would be awesome.

Though booster drafts can hold more, a typical booster draft has around 8 players. Problem is if you go over that too much you'd have to break the tournament into different groups else the draft process would take forever. And if you break it down into groups, you'd need extra TOs to help out in the draft process. Though I like the idea, as booster and sealed were my favorite types of tournaments, I am not sure it would work for Elements as it stands.

can you link to the earlier competition? I don't enter many competitions so I'm not sure what the  "you win" deck competition was.

Celebration of Opposites:
Build a deck with cards of 2 opposing elements.
Each element must be represented by 5 cards at least, that means you cannot for instance build a deck that is all death but with 2 heals.

This has actually been done before.  Discord/Black Hole and a Water/Fire control deck were basically the only two decks used.
