Reading is a good tool in life. Spamming is not.

This was on the last page and addresses the reason for the rule with lots of simple to understand text.

And so yet again I'm forced to repeat myself. Is anyone capable of reading back in this thread to find the actual reason for the rule before they flap their cake hole?

The 30-post rule got rid of all the cheaters and most of the noobs that either slow down tournaments to a crawl, making it insufferable for all players involved and especially the Tournament Organizer who is doing this work for no other reason than good will, or even cancelling the entire tournament. It will not be replaced or removed, because there is no replacement. We don't make rules arbitrarily, so know the reason before you try criticism. With everything, ever.

It's also extremely easy to make 30 valuable posts. I could pull it off in one day, and have.
I'm seriously beginning to think that should be duplicated, stickied, and referenced in any place that makes sense, because the spamming just to circumvent it and not do anything remotely useful or fun for the rest of the community is getting ridiculous.

I've learned from work that regardless of how ridiculously huge and obvious a sign is, people don't read signs.

Most blatant example is when I put up a large sign telling latecomers to wait at the doors until I'm done with giving an orientation speech to the people already inside. What do they do? Of course they rush in and distract everyone by opening the doors, letting light into a place that's supposed to be dark, and basically ignore everything.

TL;DR: No matter how obvious we make something, there's always people who "don't notice it." Trying to idiot-proof something generally ends up making the idiocy worse and more prevalent.

That being said, I'll just add Higs' blurb to the first post.

Updated the rules with a rule that prohibits posting about the metagame and/or decks of a tournament before it's over. Up until now, it's been sufficient to rely on common sense in this case. Tournaments are a test of individual ability and will stay that way.

What's the policy on waiting past the set Tournament start time for 16 players to join the tourney?  Just reviewing the rules makes it seem as if the tourney will be canceled if 16 players are not available when it is set to start or is there an unwritten rule that I'm not aware of here?

Right now, it's really up to the TO's discretion.

If enough additional willing participants can be pulled into the tournament room within 15-20 minutes, then I'm fine with that. Any longer, and people start getting restless and it would be wiser to cancel the tournament than to try to spend more time on finding enough people to hit 16.

I'm sorry if this has been posted already, but I'm in a bit of a time-crunch situation here w/ real life and don't have a whole lot of time to read through 8 pages for a specific question but... Winners receive Nymph/Mark.  Is this corresponding to the mark you use when you win, do you let the admin's know which you'd prefer, or is it entirely random?  Sorry again if this has been posted before, thanks

The code you win lets you choose from all Nymphs and Mark cards. Just don't enter it with a crappy connection or unstable PC. Once you've used the code, it's gone forever, whether you managed to pick a card and save or not.
