The top 4 of a tourney get reward codes with which they get the electrum.

The PvP duel function in-game is used to find and battle your assigned opponent. In chat, you and your opponent tell each other your in-game names. Once both players have prepared their decks, both of you will go to the PvP Duel screen in the game and type in each others' in-game name, then press OK.

How do we establish that "3 minutes to change deck"?

Players have to manually time from end of the match until the new one starts? What if we think it's taking too long and such.

Duels need to happen ASAP, or the tourney becomes too prolonged and rounds take too long. Yes, you can claim a win if your opponent isn't capable of changing decks in 3 minutes. That's why you build decks beforehand and prepare. However, it's easy to come to an agreement with your opponent and the TO if you need a bathroom break or whatever. We're no robots. :>

Update: untill new chat arrives we are going to publish brackets first to see if everyone is on them. After missing people have been added (we only need to hear a word from people not on the list, not all 9001 people on them need to confirm they are), we'll add missing people to the brackets, rerandomize (matchups won't be the same) and publish final brackets afterwards. If you don't inform of not being on brackets on time, or you're just late in entering the tourney room, your fault, not anyone elses.

2. Getting Ready

5 minutes before the tournament starts
Tournament organizer will now take all the names currently in chat room and will build tournament brackets. First, the organizer will show brackets to ensure no one is being left out. Please inform the organizer if you are not on these brackets if you wish to participate in the tournament. Once the brackets are ready, the organizer will announce so in chat. Brackets will be available here: http://challonge.com/images/brackets/elementstourney.png

3. Tournament Starts

Finding an opponent
See from the Tournament Brackets who you are fighting. You then have 5 minutes to start a duel with that opponent. If your opponent does not respond, contact Tournament Organizer who then also tries to contact the other player. If unsuccessful, it is considered a forfeit and you will move on to the next round.

I don't mean to nitpick but

I noticed that the two links to the tournament brackets direct to different png's. The first one appears to be the one actually used.  The second should probably be changed from elementstournament.png to elementstourney.png

Excuse my noobishness, but when does the tourney start anyway? I couldn't find the times anywhere.

We're on a rotation schedule. 18-20 PM GMT Western and 6-8 AM GMT Eastern. You can find the time in every single tournament thread that's put up.
