Shards aren't completely banned-- if both players agree, they can be unbanned. Imo, that is enough-- the current system allows for both sharded and unsharded matches, and that seems fair to me. Also, the votes there are really close to even; a compromise between the two stances should be the best option, and the status quo works for that.
Well I know that I can't play the really ETG in the forum, just this, I don't want to depend on the wish of my opponent to play full ETG.

edit: the correct is the inverse don't play shards if both agree

War is different, because it's constrained. Decks are designed for a specific opponent, because you know exactly what team you'll be facing and what cards they could use. This sounds insignificant, but it's really not. This is coming from someone who played BL back in the old days. Players were free to use War decks, but they didn't get very far with them.

There's also the fact that a few rainbows can actually make a huge difference. Mono Fire, and especially Mono Air, was much stronger in BL than War because of how much Grabbow tilted the metagame.

Don't get me wrong, I (well, not just me) was asking for it for so long, but changing it retroactively is a huge punch into fairness. Stick with the rules you had during the entire season, and switch them for the new one. Giving prizes for those who didn't reach the line is fine, but only after everyone who reached it received its prize, as this is how it was done for the last seasons.

I think this has been mentioned before, but perhaps we can redistribute BL and CL prizes.

I'm talking about moving all electrum prizes to BL: moving the 3rd place mark and the 5th place shard code from BL to CL.
This would be in an effort to get people upgraded to where they can play in CL, where there would be more shard/nymph/mark codes for "endgame" collecting.

I like this idea as well.  I'd also say that the $ prizes are not really much of a draw in CL - but could be really helpful in BL (increasing those would make a bigger impact).  I'm also a fan of keeping the lowered no. of matches that were used in 2/2016 (20 CL, 25 BL).  Sometimes it's hard to get people to play (or finish) a match....

I also like the idea mentioned above of a partially upped meta of some kind since it requires more strategy.... I know there are good arguments against it, but we might change BL to allow up to 6 ups or change CL to have max of 50% or something like that. All that said, both leagues are fun as is, so don't feel too strongly that we need a change; but it would be interesting.

Take my opinion lightly, but I've always seen CL as THE true EtG tournament. CL is the only official league/tournament where every deck is legal. This also means, it's the only meta where every submeta is possible.

Removing the full upgrades possibility is a restriction that would contrast too hard to what CL is.

Edit by way of posting: at most, we could increase the amount of matches by removing the 24h play time limit if the matches are played in two different (perhaps officially recognized?) sub-metas.
For an example:

I play at current time (10:00 GMT I think) with JCJ on standard ruleset. In two hours, we'll play a Speedbuilding meta duel, and in 8 hours we decide to play again on 50% upgrades rules. All 3 matches are valid for standings.

The 10 match limit would also be applied only for matches in a single meta.
