Elements PvP League - Suggestions and Feedback

Put yourself in the shoes of someone who is just starting out.  You're up against players in BL with records like 103 - 26, 81 - 18, 61 - 6... who you have little to no chance against because they've got all the cards and the top secret perfected unupped decks.  How many of the players that go 3 - 15 and then get banned from the next league season stick around on the forums? 

But then again if we just keep running those players out of the forums they won't be around to post in League - Suggestions and Feedback to ask for a fairer system.  I think it's super important we make sure elite players are dividing up the rewards for themselves fairly.  [/sarcasm] 

League is the easiest way to introduce organized pvp cause all you really have to do is pop into chat.  I think there should be more beginner friendly rules in the beginners league.

You can't learn how to play unupped if you don't know the meta.  And you can't know the meta unless you play competitive PvP with high-skill players.  Offering rewards for newbies playing other newbies without learning anything about the meta instead of people playing in a competitive meta does a disservice to the newbies and to the vets.  With such an emphasis on unupped play in this forum, there should be a place to be rewarded for completely unrestricted unupped play.  In addition to this, not even all experienced PvP vets necessarily spend enough time grinding to be able to afford a variety of upped decks, which is why most events are either completely unupped or only partially upped.  Any system that would distinguish PvP vets from newbies would fail these people.  I would not be able to participate in 2/2012 CL effectively simply because I did not have enough electrum to do so before I started Trials grinding.

We should simply rename beginner's league and championship league to unupped league and upped league, or something like that that doesn't both start with U.  (UL game anyone...?)  I haven't participated in BL, but I have played in several tournaments, and it is my opinion that unupped play and upped play require equal amounts of skill, and differ only in the amount of electrum required to be competitive.  The best player in Elements will suck in CL if he/she doesn't have enough upped cards to compete, but not because they have no skill.

 Exactly, how many times have I won or lost because of 1 2 or 3 points?
I can not update my letters at once, but I also like the BL because I like long battles in CL seem to be much faster.

A bit of a fastforward. Season 1/2012. I've got a lot of experience in the two season before, and am quite happily sitting on the top of the rankings of BL. My feeling when i saw new people wasn't "Hurr durr yay points", but more "How can i teach them the basics?". And boy, there were results. For example, regen2k9 made the prototype of the monolight that eventually became incredibly strong in BL. Cheesy111 started in that season too, and both placed in the top 6 in both that league and the 2/2012 one.

regen saw that deck against Corri, who was the first person played that "Light Jojo" in BL. I sat next to Corri, when he played him.^^ I gave Corri this deck code to try it out in BL. I built that deck for BL when SoSac was only available in trainer. Btw I built also another deck, a stall, but it wasn't as successfully as "Light Jojo".

That is the reason why I finished the season in third place. The problem is that new people "leave" leagues after a few games. I think we need advertisement ingame. A link under the "pvp" button like "PvP leagues". You'll be connected to forum and I mean the pvp section. Aaaand I know the most of you will say this is a bad idea, but I wish we have more ppl in leagues. Maybe more ppl will stay, because more ppl are in BL, that means maybe more newbies.

No one objects to that I think, the problem is getting Zanz to make it happen.

can be League PVP 1 and League PVP 2, Anyone will understand very well, and is more original

I may be a bit slow on this (or could be only my uninterest in joining leagues ), but just noticed the namechange not long ago. I figured it was made because of the decieving "beginner's" title, but "Battle" league? Why? To keep the acronym.. ? So.. why do participants in CL pose more as "champions" than the ones in BL then?

What's next, "Combat" league?

The first answer is : because my brain isn't that good :v
The second, the "problem" seen before was that Begginer's league was misleading and mislead people to think it was easy. Hence the name change for bl. There was no seen issue in cl, so no fix.

I asked Jenkar once in chat if we could get updated league stats, and he mentioned that without Xeno's tools, it would take him a few days to do, and so he wasn't willing to do it at this point.  My question is whether we could at least get a win/loss record (without ELO rating) posted so as to get a rough idea of how people are doing.  Since it wouldn't really mean anything in and of itself, the players could just be sorted alphabetically in a list or something.
