PlayerOaBased on consensus from the Community, PvP League 3/19 will use this new ruleset in an attempt to promote higher League activity. Read here for more information about the revamp.
1. SIGNING UPAnyone with a forum and a chat account can sign up for this event. Start by reading the rules very carefully. Then sign up by posting on a separate sign up topic. If you cannot find a sign up topic, or if it is locked, this event is not currently active, and you will have to wait for it to restart. Sign up phase will last 1 week.
Maximum amount of participants for this event is
16. If the event is full, you can still sign up as a reserve player, and will get a chance to join the event if any of the 16 players drop out.
The League will not run if we get less than
8 players.
2. GETTING READYElements PvP League is a
Double Round-Robin tournament. Each player will throughout the league season face each other player twice - once in a home match, and once in an away match.
For home matches you decide the ruleset from a predetermined list of rulesets. This ruleset will be in effect for the whole match.
Each player has to post his desired ruleset for his home match within the first 48 hours of the round, or before the match is played if it is before 48 hours have passed. A timer will be in the round topic. If nothing has been posted, rules will by default be #1 - Upgraded, unrestricted. Subsequently, in away matches, your opponent decides the ruleset.
List of rulesets:
Spoiler for List of rulesets:
1 - Upgraded, unrestricted
2 - Upgraded - ban 5 cards for your opponent*. He cannot use these cards in the match. Feel free to use a 3rd party for exchanging bans.
3 - Unupgraded, unrestricted
4 - Unupgraded - ban 5 cards for your opponent*. He cannot use these cards in the match. Feel free to use a 3rd party for exchanging bans.
5 - 50% upgrades, rounded up, otherwise unrestricted.
6 - Trios only. You must include at least 4 non-PPM cards from all three elements. Home player chooses number of upgrades and states it in the post where he picked this rule.
7 - Trials style: Pick an element before the match - your decks must consist of at least 50% of that element. 12 upgrades.
8 - World Cup style: The home player picks 8 unique elements and states them in the post where he picked this rule. Each deck must be a duo of those elements, with at least 6 non-PPM cards from both elements. You cannot reuse an element (so if it goes to game 4, all 8 elements must have been used once and only once). Progressive upgrades: 6n upgrades where n=game number.
9 - Both players rolls a 1d12 before each game. At least 50% of your deck must consist of that element. Home player chooses number of upgrades and states it in the post where he picked this rule.
10 - One player rolls a 1d12 before each game which counts for both players. At least 50% of your deck must consist of that element. Home player chooses number of upgrades and states it in the post where he picked this rule.
11 - Both players picks an element before the match. At least 50% of your deck must consist of one of those two elements (i.e. not 30%+20%). Home player chooses number of upgrades and states it in the post where he picked this rule.
12 - Both players use the /draw e function to draw a card. They must use at least 4 copies of that card in their deck, but may choose to reroll once per match. The card may NOT be used as a dead card. Automatic reroll if it's a Relic, repeat, or card that the player who drew it doesn't have. Home player chooses number of upgrades and states it in the post where he picked this rule.
*Rules 2&4: In addition, you can choose to ban all nymphs, shards, rares, or any combination of the three. However, banning a group like that bans all the cards in the group, i.e. you can't ban all nymphs but Amber Nymph.
3. MATCH FORMATMatches are Best of 4.
- If a player wins 3 games (i.e. 3-0 or 3-1), he will receive
3 points from that match. The loser will receive
0 points.
- If the match ends 2-2, both players receive
1 point each.
4. MATCHESTwo rounds are put up every week - your home and away match versus the same opponent. In other words, you face your weekly opponent in two best of 4 matches - one with your preferred ruleset, and one with your opponents preferred ruleset. You can play the matches either after one another or not.
It's a good idea to either record the matches, or take screenshots as proof, in case something weird, like a desync error, happens. If there is a dispute in a game, PM all pertinent information to the Event Organizer and continue on with that duel. The EO will look at all the information and make a ruling. Remember, a player who gets caught cheating, will be permanently banned from all Elements community PvP events, so please play fair.
If two players cannot complete their match during the current round, they can ask to move their game to another week. This must be approved by the League Organizer(s) on a case-to-case basis. Otherwise the most active player will receive a 3-0 win.
In the event of a desync, both players finish the game against the AI. If only one player defeats their AI opponent, that player is the winner. If both (or neither) players win, the game is replayed with the same decks. Upon defeating the AI opponent, a screenshot of the turn of the win must be provided.
5. AFTER MATCHESThe winner of the match posts the result into the corresponding League Results topic. If the match ends 2-2 one of the players posts the result. Please use this format:
pikachufan2164: 1
Jenkar: 3
In this case Jenkar posts, and Jenkar won 3-1 vs pikachufan2164.
Make sure to put the home player above the away player, regardless of who won!The code used to generate this is:
pikachufan2164: 1
Jenkar: 3
Simply put the and tags around each player's FORUM username, and it will link to their forum profile.
Penalties happen on a case-by-case basis. If a player stops playing and/or drops out during the season, he will get banned for the next league season. The League Organizer(s) reserve the right to make whichever ruling they seem fit.
Do not sign up if you don't intend to complete your matches.
6. WINNERThe winner is the player with the highest amount of points after everyone have faced each other twice. If there is a tie, games (not matches) won subtracted by games lost break the tie. After that comes the results between the two tying players. If it's still a tie, a best-of-3 will break the tie.
