League 3/19 - Final Catchups

Until the end of next weekend will be granted for completing your final matches. If they haven't been played when deadline hits, I will hand out activity wins. PM me your evidence of activity if your match doesn't get played. If neither has shown any effort of getting the match done, the match might be null and void, with 0 points to both.

Spoiler for List of rulesets:

1 - Upgraded, unrestricted

2 - Upgraded - ban 5 cards for your opponent. He cannot use these cards in the match. Feel free to use a 3rd party for exchanging bans.

3 - Unupgraded, unrestricted

4 - Unupgraded  - ban 5 cards for your opponent. He cannot use these cards in the match. Feel free to use a 3rd party for exchanging bans.

5 - 50% upgrades, rounded up, otherwise unrestricted.

6 - Trios only. You must include at least 4 non-PPM cards from all three elements. Home player chooses number of upgrades and states it in the post where he picked this rule.

7 - Trials style: Both players pick an element before the match - your decks must consist of at least 50% of that element. 12 upgrades. Feel free to use a 3rd party for exchanging elements.

8 - World Cup style: The home player picks 8 unique elements and states them in the post where he picked this rule.  Each deck must be a duo of those elements, with at least 6 non-PPM cards from both elements. You cannot reuse an element (so if it goes to game 4, all 8 elements must have been used once and only once). Progressive upgrades: 6n upgrades where n=game number.

9 - Both players rolls a 1d12 before each game. At least 50% of your deck must consist of that element. Home player chooses number of upgrades and states it in the post where he picked this rule.

10 - One player rolls a 1d12 before each game which counts for both players. At least 50% of your deck must consist of that element. Home player chooses number of upgrades and states it in the post where he picked this rule.

11 - Both players picks an element before the match. At least 50% of your deck must consist of one of those two elements (i.e. not 30%+20%). Home player chooses number of upgrades and states it in the post where he picked this rule.

12 - Both players use the /draw e function to draw a card. They must use at least 4 copies of that card in their deck, but may choose to reroll once per match. The card may NOT be used as a dead card. Automatic reroll if it's a Relic, repeat, or card that the player who drew it doesn't have. Home player chooses number of upgrades and states it in the post where he picked this rule.

In addition, you can choose to ban all nymphs, shards, rares, or any combination of the three. However, banning a group like that bans all the cards in the group, i.e. you can't ban all nymphs but Amber Nymph.

I have no problem extending the deadline. War takes priority I guess. And mathman has been away for 17 days.

I've already granted 10 additional days.. and my experience is if I extend even further people will just keep delaying their games. But a discussion on this is appreciated!

did not really like it at all. original league was the best event because you could pop in chat at any time and try to have a game with some stakes. turning league into another scheduled event ruined this and made the game feel even more dead to me the last few months, sending pms to schedule a match drains my energy. even with this match style the league was needlessly paced, i dont see why we weren't allowed to try play everyone week 1 and be done with it or play people when we saw them which would get around the scheduling problem.
this league also took too long to start iirc, leagues were better when there was ~3 days downtime between them. we now have to sort out what to do with the next league but starting after war ends is too long imo

That's fair! The reason for change was that during the last season of classic league rules, only 4 players were remotely active... which I wasn't happy. This time we managed to double that number. Another possibility, as you said, is to release all matchups during league start, then give n weeks to complete all of them (n=number of participants). I'm also completely down to starting league within short time, if that's what the community wants. Basically, I'm here for you guys ^^

I'm a bit leery to changing back, as, well.. there isn't more chat activity now than back in spring '19. But again, as always, I'll listen to you - the players.
