Spell-Reflecting Shields Inconsistency

In a battle with a friend I noticed something was off when casting spells if we both had a spell reflecting shield equipped. I had Mirror Shield and he had Jade Shield.
When he cast Lightning targeting me, the spell would reflect off me, but I ended up taking damage anyways.
When he targeted himself, he reflected and hit me as well. As though Mirror shield wasn't equipped. Damage was also inconsistant. At times on my screen I would take always 5 damage, and he wansn't damaged. But on his screen he would take 4 damage if I was the one targeted, and I would be fine.
I will be adding screenshots later to further show what happened.
Has anyone else had this occur? Under what circumstances if so?

Reflective shields act as bounce off only once. Lightning onto one mirror will deal the 5 to the other player, regardless. Tested myself, unupped both shields reflected and did 5 damage each time. same thing with reflective and jade, i'd assume the same for any combo.

If you're wondering why reflective doesn't counter reflected damage, imagine the reflected spell as physical directly back.

Okay, thank you. I wasn't quite sure if this could be a bug at first, but when we tried it a couple times and damage wasn't consistant for us I thought something was wrong. If someone else tried it and didn't have that problem it might just be something on our end. Thanks again for letting me know!
